Y Pipe questions

I'm lookin for headers for my 1991 Camaro. I already have the exhaust done but need headers for my new motor. Is it cheaper to buy the y pipe seperate from headers? Or is it cheaper to buy in a package?
If you find anything please put a link in your reply!

Re: Y Pipe questions

Are you looking for a certain brand of header, long or short, etc? That will make a difference in your options. Generally speaking though (i know there are cases this isnt true, im one of them), whatever brand header you get, you have to get that company's y-pipe as well. Usually its cheaper to buy as a set, if they're sold that way.
Now, I know if you buy Hooker shorties (2055 or 2460), you can buy Doug's y-pipe and it will fit, thats cheaper than Hooker's y-pipe.

Re: Y Pipe questions

If your looking to save money and pick up nice gains the 2460 with a "fixed" Doug's or hooker y pipe is the best bang for the buck. I have some pictures of what wrong with the y and what was fixed a few threads down called " does anyone make a 3 inch intermediate pipe"
