relocating the battury to the rear glove box
 

is this possible? or would i have to relocate it to the spare tire's home? if i have to put it where the spare tire is is it possible to put the spare tire where the rear glove box is ?

I think the rear glove box is too small. Youd probably would have to take out the spare/jack, and fab up something there.

I wanna move mine there but thats were im gonna put my nitrous bottle. So ive got some thinking to do...:doh:

Just be aware that it is much easier to put in the storage well. Most people end up getting rid of the spare tire and putting it in that compartment, or using that space for other things like nitrous bottles and the like.

well thats what im wondering i wanna move it for weight transfer but would also like to keep my spare tire. so if i move the battury to where the spare tire is. can i move the spare tire to where the rear glove box is ?

I tried putting an optima in the glove box... not a good idea... I pretty much ripped all the staples off the cardboard.

As for the sides... the passenger side has more space in it than the driverside.

if you can live without the spare tire you can fit the battery there. i installed one there with a nitrous bottle in a forth gen. they are pretty close in size so it may be possable on a third gen also. don't know for sure though.

Do note, that you need either a sealed box, or a bulkhead, along with a kill switch, to be track legal with the battery in the rear well.

or you could be sneaky.... go to autozone and ask them for a display battery. there is nothing in them and they only weigh about 3lbs. they also have the terminals so all you do is hook up the cables for the starter, and the ones from the battery and it is totally sleeper.;)

?? you mean and have this light weight one under the hood to make it look stock?

exactly..... the one under the hood will look identical to a normal batt.... but only weighs in around 3lbs. tech is none the wiser;) all it really is is the plastic case and two terminals. just piggy back the leads. heh heh heh. totally sleeper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
