98-02 headlights in an 1986 Trans Am I don't know if I want to do this or not but this idea has been in my head for a few days now and wanted to know what you guys thought are. so can some one photo shop an 86 trans am with 98 head light assemblies mods if this is in the wrong area please move it. |
That would be a lot of fabrication to do that. But well worth it.I think it would look cool:cool: |
Yeah I thought so too but would like to see a photo shopped image to see what it would look like before heading into that challenge. |
nevermind...i think i was off topic |
nevermind...moderators feel free to delete this |
I would definitely make some measurements first. |
Thats a cool idea, but it seems like the ls1 style lights would be stick out too far to fit inside the hole for the old lights. Like firebat said..measure. I'm sure if they dont..you could get some aftermarket square of rectangular shaped lights that would be the right size. |
I found the headlightassemblies at classic industries for $136 I think I am go to go from there and see how it turns out. I still have my old front end pieces and junk hood that I use to make one off hoods with and an old junk firebird out back. I will set up my front end and start fabricating parts and brackets. |

That looks about what is actually going to look like still designing some stuff to do this. Then I need to get a hold of my friends dad to do the glass work. He use to build off shore racing boat so I know that it will be in good hand. I will have post pics as soon I start the project and I can get the right car for the to hack on and fab on an 88 firebird I shall keep you all updated on the progress. |
