Build an in home racing cockpit and enjoy a thirdgen in the off season

Pretty easy to do. I spent about $80 to build this thing. Screwed it all together rather then glue so I can dismantle and put away when needed. This is Forza 3 but its much more fun with street racing games like midnight club LA and need for speed.

Nice. I trust you have a 12V power source so that you can pump up those air bladders in that 4th gen Trans Am seat.

NICE!!! Thats exactly what I wanted to build but havent gotten around to it! How much do you weigh? Does it seem sturdy enough for spirited driving?

How about some details on the seat mounting? Sliders still work?

I wouldnt mind some plans either. I have a 911 wheel and would LOVE to mount the shifter down low where its supposed to be and set something like this up!

I plan to build something like this eventually. I've used my racing wheel like 3 times, because it's awkward to use attached to a coffee table and sitting on the couch. The biggest problem is that I already have a large Rock Band drum set-up in the room, that doesn't really allow for any more large game peripherals. :/

I weight about 175 but when I first built this I weighed around 205ish. Its plenty sturdy. Some guys use the other white pvc tubing but its more expensive and is not necessary.

Yes silders work perfect. Basically you bolt the seat to a flat piece of material of your choice, not much to it. Same goes for the pedals.

That's what sucks about the xbox I wanted the logitech wheel with shifter and clutch pedal but microsoft did not allow support for it.

As for plans I based mine on a modified plans I found online. All credit goes to simul8r.

Thats awsome man. I wish I had the time to build one. Maybe over the winter I will find time. How does the seat mount?

I just made some tracks out of melamine. Bolted it on with Chicago bolts.

The TV has excellent picture for a tube tv. Its only for games anyway. The other projection tv I have it hooked to in the other pic is a 1080i HDTV and has sharper picture then some of the flatscreens I have seen. My pictures suck!
