Looking for Ideas

Looking for ideas of products to be made on the lathe and/or mill for thirdgens. Like to hear suggestions.

Whatever your particular skill-set allows. We make a lot of different parts for thirdgens, as well as many other vehicles, including motorcycles.

Just looking for suggestions as to what the community wants. I make gauge bezels and turn down front brake hubs for thirdgens right now.

Bummer you're across international boundaries... I've got more than half a dozen old rotors laying around that I need to have cut down to hubs. I'm sure it'd be cost prohibitive to ship them somewhere to be cut, just never feel like dealing with the local machine shops.

If you want to roughly cut the disc off with a disc grinder, shipping might not be so bad.

Well, it's not a lathe or mill job, but I want a set of these in stainless steel. For 82-84 Firebird/TransAm.

Are they a flat part?

Re: Looking for Ideas

They are some sort of plastic, about 5/8" thick, but flex more like rubber. But the sun really breaks them down.
They are not flat, like if you laid them on a table, they would not lie flat. They follow the contours of the GFX nose.
To fabricate, you would have to create the perimeter first, and then add the remaining ribs.
I would want full air, not just a small open section like the picture above.
Ideally, I would also like to mount some sort of light in there also. LEDs now make that part a little easier.

If anyone else reading this has any good ideas, please share.

Unfortunately, I don't think I could do it on my manual machines. Sounds like it would require CNC.
