are build sheets valuable are just another piece of paper?

I think ANY original documentation you can get is valuable. Before I paid any attention, I used to throw away build sheets to earlier '02 F bodies when I'd check the cars in. I never paid any attention to what that little slip of paper in the glove box was.

After reading a post on here, I now make sure to save all of the F bodies' build sheets when they come in, and include them with the owners manuals. Most people have no clue what they are, but those who do will be glad someone took the time to save them. 4th gen ones obviously come in the glove box, BTW :)

Valuable in what form? by itself its just a piece of paper. If the car is a V6 or a 4 cyl, or otherwise undesirable, a buildsheet isn't going to make any difference. If you've got the SPID and the VIN number you don't need the build sheet since it's all repetative. If the car is a Z28, Iroc, Formula, Trans Am, or GTA and its 20-30 years from now, and the car is completely perfect and equipped with all the desirable options the build sheet will add to the documentation to prove that the car is authentic.

Right now there's no $$$ amount associated with a build sheet.

And again, anything that adds authenticity to a car in the years to come DOES have value. Maybe not now, but down the road.

He didn't ask about the monetary value of it in its current form. But no one here can argue that they would rather NOT have their build sheet, because it serves no purpose, would they? Anything that adds to the documentation of your vehicle will add value...whether its now, next year, or 40 light years from now...

I'd argue they should be left alone in the car. Here's just a few reasons why... If they're inside the seat the sheet will either come out in pieces, or you'd have to cut the hog rings on the seat and reattach the cover. Not to mention that anything that comes out of the car probably isn't goign to be remembered when that car gets passed on to its next owner. So when you trade in your car and you give the dealership your folder of receipts and documentation, and they throw it in the trash can, then the previous owner doesn't have the build sheet anymore. In most cases they're safer in the car.
