1992 Camaro RS Restoration Package
 

Well, apparently they DO offer a restoration package for 1992 Camaro's. I will be interested in seeing what is all included in the package. (I "X"d out personal information.)

Their e-mail back to me (received this morning from an e-mail I sent late last night) is included below:

"Dear Mr. XXXXXX,

Thank you for contacting the Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center. We
appreciate you taking the time to write us in regards to receiving a
restoration package for your 1992 Chevrolet Camaro RS. A Restoration
Package will be forwarded to your mailing address.

Please use the Regular Production Options (RPO) Code Book in
conjunction with your vehicle's Service Parts Identification (SPID) Label to
determine your vehicle's factory options. Also, the Restoration Package may
provide you with further information regarding vehicle history and
option availability. This information should reach you in 6-8 weeks. If
this information has not reached you in that time, please contact us
again.

If you should need to contact us in the future, simply reply to this
message or call our Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center at
1-800-222-1020 and refer to file number 1-XXXXXXXXX. Customer Relationship Managers
are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.,
Eastern Time.

Let us know. I got the 1991 pkg. even tho I sent them info on a 92 RS. Both cars in their eye are the same.

RESTORATION PACKET RECIEVED........ AND IN RECORD TIME ALSO!!!

I E-MAILED THEM ON 09/01/2004 AND RECEIVED THE PACKAGE TODAY (09/10/2004).

THE PACKAGE COMES FROM GM - C.A.R.S., P.O. BOX 17128, AUSTIN, TX 78760. IT COST $2.67 TO MAIL. IT IS FAIRLY THICK.

MOSTLY ZEROXED INFORMATION, SOME PRETTY BASIC AND GENERIC AND SOME INTERESTING. HEY, FOR FREE HOW CAN YOU COMPLAIN?

I NEED TO DIG INTO THIS A LITTLE MORE DEEPER AND ACTUALLY READ WHAT IS CONTAINED IN THE PACKAGE.

BY THE WAY, IT IS INFORMATION SPECIFIC TO 1992 CAMAROS (SPECIFICATIONS). SOMEONE SAID THEY DID NOT HAVE THIS INFORMATION AVAILABLE......PERHAPS IT IS ALL IN WHO (OR HOW) YOU ASK....................

its a nice thing i got mine for my 89 camaro today. lots of cool information. I wonder if GM would send me one for ever year 82-92 if i asked. Be nice to have at my workplace...

Just a suggestion, take a look at the date of the thread you reading, it's easy to run into "dead" threads
that are really old, such as this one.....Not to say you cant revive the thread, but just understand you may not get a response
​​​​​​​and the info may be out dated

Most of these old thread bumps are because of the infinite scrolling option opening related threads.

So beyond knowing that this is an old thread, anybody know what was included in this "package". Is it the same stuff on the GM archive website?
