82-84 firebird owners, what's your build week?
 

In my never ending quest to get more data, I'd like to ask what your build week is?

I'm looking for Year, Plant, week and sequence numbers (last 6 of the VIN) I'm not looking for the full VIN. All the data is on the cowl tag.

For example. my car is

82, L(Van Nuys), 06C, 547321

I've been taking pics of firebird cowl tags from wrecking yards and sometimes they are on eBay. but that is still a small fraction of what's out there.

I think its interesting to look at the production timeline and match things up. For example I know the silver ring around the steering wheel was discontinued halfway through 82 and getting more data will allow me to narrow the time frame down even more.

I don't expect to ever get a complete list for every car but its fun to try, well at least for me. :)

Sure, I'm game! I have two T/A's, an 82 and an 84:

Here's the 82 I purchased in July 2008. 59K original miles, fully loaded, but needs a lot of work:

This one is in the junkyard and has a life expectancy of about two weeks.

First line: D 05A 2FS87 L 219572 (the 05A could be D5A, but are not the first two numbers the number of the week?)
Second Line: 22G 27L 27U (the G could be a C)
Third Line: A09
Last line: D S 277765


I make the VIN out to be: 1GPAP(?)877*DL219572. The VIN tag on the car is toast. However I have not tested the VIN as I have assumed the two "P" in the number. I also have not tried to calculate the check digit.

LU5 Engine - I pulled the intake manifold and TBs this afternoon.
AC, Cruise, Trim Lights, Custom Trim, L/S seats, which IROCZ28KevinZ has
Auto, Defrost.

The rear end is gone, so I don't know if it was a J65 4 - disc or not. Steering wheel is also gone, as is the radio. So I don't have RPOs for those items. No TTops. It did not appear to have pulse wipers, but I could be incorrect.
