RS with factory foglights, and factory style gas cap?
 

2 questions:

1) Would like to see pics of an RS with factory fogs. I swear someone here has one, and said that it was actually an option on all 89-92 RS cars. Curious what grille they used if this is the case since of course the only ones we ever see are the 85-90 IROC, the 91-92 Bowtie, and the standard louvered ones.

2) What does the factory gas cap look like on an RS? Mine is a locking cap that I need to stick a key in every time I want to buy gas, been there since I bought the car, always assumed it was factory but perhaps it's not.

It probably would have been available as the T96 Fog light option in 1986 and 1987 when it was offered on the Z-28s. It came stock on the Irocs of those years but not the Z-28s. The RS model wasn't offered those years so I don't think you'll find an RS with it in any years. The Z-28s that ordered the option got the same grill as the Irocs in 1986 and 1987.

The locking cap isn't stock for the Camaro.

Hmm, ok...I swear I saw someone say they were a factory option on all RS cars, but I couldn't imagine they got the Camaro/Bowtie grille being RS cars.

Thanks on the gas cap too, actually just as you were posting it I found a NOS one for sale...all these years I thought my locking gas cap was original. heh.

From 85-87 fog lights were optional on the base model Camaro, all other years the car had to be at least a Z28 to get fog lights.

Locking gas caps weren't stock, but you could buy them over the counter at the GM dealer. Chances are the factory gas cap was made by Stant anyway.
