Question about paint/color scheme originality

I hope I posted this in the correct section.

I've done a search on line and couldn't come up with a solid answer. So I was hoping you guys can help me out with this question; I've seen several Camaro's,regardless of the color, that have the section where the head lights are place at/located at painted all black..was this an original color scheme/paint option? Or is it a crave, a common thing many third gen Camaro owners do? Sorry for my ignorance.. Just love learning about these cars..:burnout:

Re: Question about paint/color scheme originality

IIRC, black headlight buckets were correct for Z28 and IROC models. Nonetheless, lots of idiots that repaint these cars paint them back to body color, which is totally wrong (assuming I'm remembering correctly).

I do know this: all 1993-97 Camaros had the black buckets regardless of trim level, yet I've seen many idiots paint these back to body color as well.

Do a search. There is a very in depth discussion of all cars that received black headlights, gray headlights or body color. It would be easier for you to locate that discussion than for us to redo the research that was done in that thread. Good luck.
