List of 71 original GM 3rd Gen Part Numbers!! Hey everyone, I am meticulously restoring my 1992 Trans Am convertible, with a factory 5 speed manual. I have been doing a lot of research and have put together a list of part numbers for 71 NOS Items I have purchased (and a few that I am still on the hunt for) so far for my car. I will add more part numbers to this list when I have more time! I thought it could be helpful to other members who might currently be looking for these parts too, or someone in the future who might want or need some of them. I have my parts separated and stored in 3 categories, which are the phases of the restoration that I'll be doing. First phase (beside collecting parts)= mechanical overhaul (which is what I am working on now) and refinishing of original wheels. Second phase= paint and body. Third Phase= interior and installation of all NOS GM weatherstripping and new top. |

And there are going to be a lot of parts/part numbers that won't get posted because there are many parts on these cars that are simply unobtainable NOS or never break or wear out. We just try the best we can to help each other out with our third gens so people can restore and maintain them and keep them alive! |

We got about a yr and a half to gather parts and install. At first I thought you had this list for sale. I was about to grab a notebook and make a list to send you. Lol. I am new to 3rdgen s so this will be great resourse for me. If your wondering got 72 Z28 and for dd duty a 02 Z28 that shares duty with my 2010 CTS-V as my dd. Can't imagine why I stay broke. I want to mention despite that i don't have a Thirdgen anymore, however i'm always wanting to be involved with them and also like to help fellow thirdgen owners with their rides. Awhile back i bought a OEM GM dealership parts and illustration catalog for 82-92 Pontiac F-body cars. This one is the 2nd revision edition and it's got ton of pages of OEM parts #. Of course we all know that quite a few of them have been superseded and also may no longer be available. But for those looking for OEM part numbers for the birds please send me a PM and I'll do what i can to help out as well.... :) |

Re: List of 71 original GM 3rd Gen Part Numbers!! There are several GM dealers with websites setup to sell parts online. Many use the diagrams from the Parts & Illustration manuals, and the GM Parts counter computer application. Probably 90% or better of thirdgen parts are discontinued, but the numbers help when searching ebay for NOS, etc. The #1 advantage of using the dealer's websites, is that they'll have the latest revision, while many of the Parts & Illustration manuals only go up to 1991. |

Re: List of 71 original GM 3rd Gen Part Numbers!! For anyone interested, SMS Fabrics in Oregon has the original, date-coded proper material. I had Princess from Lethal Interiors make new seat covers for mine, the door panels are next. I already have the new fabric but as it has to be sewn down near where it meets the carpet I'll be having a local auto upholstery shop do it. BTW- I love Princess's work on the seat covers and the support the new seat buns provide! |

Fastest I've been was 155 on a turnpike. I have a JY 5 speed with 232 gears. I've had a few mild mods. 3 inch dual with double cats fuel pump and upgraded injectors and some igintion system upgrades and a K&N filet. no headers still rocking the manifolds and a mild cam from what the previous owners have said. thing rips like a champ though. |
