1986 TA vert up for auction

This is going on the block next week, in my area. 38,xxx miles 5.0 auto.

Estate auction, along with a 1976 Olds Regency and a 1999 Cadillac Deville. Should be interesting. I am going to try and go just to see what the Trans Am goes for.

That car might go pretty cheap. I've been watching those Autoform verts going up in value but not really my cup of tea.

Nice looking T/A. It'd be a lot cooler if it were still a hardtop. Just never liked that conversion. The ASC conversion is so much cleaner, it just makes any other conversion look bad.

Not sure I've seen one with the aero wing. Doesn't look like it fits.

Thought they all used the D80-like spoiler:

Agree that ASC did a cleaner job. No top dropping down to the sides, no exposed latches on the decklid.

Where those contracted through GM like ASC, or was it purely aftermarket? if its aftermarket I could see it hurting the cars value, but if GM was behind it it should increase the value. I don't care for the fit & finish much. the snaps on the side look terrible imo.

I noticed it does not have the "cooler lid" in the trunk deck, GM or not this was one of the worst vert designs ever. The way the top comes down on the side and the fact there are boat cover snaps screwed into the side of the car and those big boat style hatch cover hinges, it just looks terrible! I wonder how much it cost when these were new, someone would have really wanted a vert to pay to have this done. :burnout:
