1985 Trans am

I have a 1985 trans am with only 8,200 miles and never been wreck but on the engine size sticker on the hood it read 2.8 liter but the car has 305 engine and all numbers match on this car. Is this a mistake that is common or is it a rare mistake from factory...

85 TA's don't have engine size decals on the hoods.

Run your VIN. There are many sites on the web that will decode your VIN. Also, take pictures of your engine, and of that decal. Everyone here loves pictures.

I would like to see a pic of his car, sounds nice.I know 2.8 liter wasn't available in a TA for 86.

He probably means the emissions sticker under the hood. It should note the engine size and a few other related information.

Which means I'd think it's more possible the hood was replaced from one that had the 2.8 sticker and engine than the sticker being in error. Wonder if the hood has the Trans Am hood vents.
