84 Sport Coupe

Check out this mint 84 Sport Coupe with only 30k miles on it for only $3,000. I am half tempted to buy.

Mint he says... First pic shows a huge dent in the 1/4 panel. :

It'd be kinda freaky if it were beige. Like a flashback to 1995... But it's probably just garden variety White.

I think that is just a reflection. The other closeup pics I am not seeing a dent in the quarter.

Right click, view image, ctrl++ to zoom in... Unless it's a reflection with paint chips and scratches I'm guessing he's got current photos and photos when he got it from Grand Ma after she passed away. Or maybe it just came out of the Maaco booth. Note the license plate and frame disappears in the other photos.

Price is $2,000 too high either way, even if the mileage is correct, due to the Wheeze Six.

Drew is right, this is a $1k parts car. The only difference between this car and a rust free rolling chassis, is that this one doesn't need a trailer to get to your shop for disassembly, it can hobble there on it's own. A rust free 67 Camaro with an inline 6 might be worth something, a V6 thirdgen is not with so many V8 cars on the market. This is still a car you buy and turn into a race car, do a wild build on, etc.

Do people just not know how to take photos? He never gets the full car in a photo, and half of them are portrait screenshots of landscape photos.

I think that would make a fun little commuter car.

Mine sure is! So yeah. I found out there is a reason Chevy sold so many V6 Camaros, because they were really good cars! Not as good as V8 Camaros, but compared to other small-engine runabouts in their day? Hands down winner. Think about it, which would you rather drive today, a 1984 Honda Prelude or a 1984 Chevy V6 Camaro?

Drew look at the pic of your Sport Coupe. It also looks like there is dent in the lower rear quarter. That spot in pics I have found frequently causes an illusion of a dent in pics.

Re: 84 Sport Coupe

An optical illusion of a dent I can buy into. An optical illusion of a dent + an optical illusion of chipped and scratched paint + two obviously different sets of pics taken at different times, leads me to believe that the present condition doesn't match one set or the other. People like to do stupid stuff with the pics on a classifieds ad, like use a picture they took when they just got the car, or just got it out of the body shop, and then another after daily driving it for five years. Only way to know for sure is to actually go look at the car, or ask the seller questions.
