PHS Question........

What do you get supplied with from PHS when you purchase there service? I am going nuts trying to find out all my RPO codes for my 87 Formula 350, because the original sticker is gone. Will they be able to provide me with this information? Any help would be greatly appreciated

What I got from PHS was a thank you note, a glossy pic of a 1991 Firebird Formula, a copy of the order invoice, a sample order sheet with my cars basic options highlighted, a Pontiac News press release, a 1" thick catalog of specifications etc that isn't really usefull for anything, a photocopy of some production numbers, an artical on storing a car, a order sheet to order a window sticker, and a 2002 Pontiac sales brochure.

My opinion, it wasn't really worth $35 to get any of the information they include. The only parts that I didn't already have were the invoice, the sample order sheet, and the giant catalog of useless facts. Just about anyone could assemble as much information as they provide in a weekend online.

Color me disappointed. Had I got the packet before I researched the hell out of my car it would have been neat. But after assembling my library most of it was just review.

Drew, do you think it would be worth it for someone like me, who doesn't have there RPO sticker and is going nuts trying to get one/. find out my options? WIll the kit be able to supply me with this information?

It'll give you some of the information that the RPO's would give you, but not all of it... Between the PHS info, and the sales brochure for your cars year you should be able to get a good idea of how it came originally.

You can get a printout of all the RPO codes and descriptions from any GM dealer parts counter for free if you supply the VIN.

Pretty sure it was concluded almost a year ago now that they could only go back as far as 90 in the database.

I'm pretty sure that I got that information from the dealer after my '83 was well over 10 years old. Where does PHS get it? There has to be a way, unless GM orders the data deleted (which wouldn't surprise me, since they're scrapping the f-body).

7 years ago the dealer no longer had RPO information on my car. Someone at Pontiac was nice enough to send me a copy of the order sheet for my car. It cant hurt to try, but I think that the dealer will not be able to help him.
