GM Media Archives Well I ordered my dealer invoice from GM Media Archives yesterday. They said it takes 5-10 business days to process. Can I give that information to someone to get a window sticker reproduced? I'm anxious to learn some history about my car! |

I'm anxious to learn some history about my car! I have used this company a few years ago, and they did an excellent job. It looks like now they only offer the service for US residents. I'm in Canada. It looks like I had ordered mine at the right time :+). https://www.window-sticker.com/ |
Re: GM Media Archives Careful with the repro window stickers. In the past they've been more of a fantasy, educated guess, of what the original window sticker would have looked like. They've been shown to miss the mark in the past. FWIW. |
Re: GM Media Archives Speaking of window stickers......what do you guys think about laminating the cars "original" window sticker ?? Good or bad idea ?? |
Re: GM Media Archives Copy, laminate the copy, keep original in safe place. |

Re: GM Media Archives Hey guys, don't forget that window-sticker.com is under new management. The new owner is a member here. He does want to make the replicas as close to original as possible, so he might pop in and ask us to help with other window stickers that are similar so that he can reproduce it accurately. Dagwood, if you do order one, remind them to come up here to get photos. The users TGO name is Triple A. |

When I wrote to him about it, he quickly revised the window sticker and sent me the new copies with the corrections. When I get a chance, I'll post the original and revised versions, but I don't have them with me at the moment. I had seen older threads where people complained about someone's refusal to make corrections, but it does seem service has been improved. I appreciate it! |

Yep, the reproductions are cool to have, but if you see an original window sticker from the same year it will probably look quite different. Don't know why they can't seem to get them right. |
Re: GM Media Archives I already got my invoice info! That was fast! Well worth the money. I got probably 120 pages of cool info! Heres the sheet I was looking for... https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...497590e47c.jpg |

Re: GM Media Archives Scott, I talked to a salesman there just now. I asked if they had records that far back to find the original owner. They dont have records that far back. He's sending me a keychain from the dealership |
Re: GM Media Archives Thanks |
Re: GM Media Archives I have all the paperwork and documentation from the original owner of my car. I bought it from the family after the original owner passed away. They gave me folders of paperwork, including the annual insurance renewals, windshield wiper replacements, oil changes, etc. |

Re: GM Media Archives All I ordered was the invoice, and this was all I got with it. It came with the following... 1. Invoice for my car 2. 1982 Camaro Facts (info the dealer would use when ordering the car) 3. General Motors 1982 Passenger Car VIN System 4. 1982 Camaro Specifications (BIG section, complete with Pace Car info, etc) 5. MVMA Specifications Form Passenger Car 1982 (Also a huge section) It was well worth the $50. I highly recommend it! https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...ad1b66be8b.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...b8b0ed26cf.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...40f802bbf5.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...dd5c930c1f.jpg I dont know why the 1982 Camaro Specifications section has an 87 IROC-Z convertible on the cover lol. This is a big section with TONS AND TONS of info https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...462dfb3948.jpg Ever seen a 1982 Pace TRUCK??? https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...a433533023.jpg Big section |
Re: GM Media Archives |
Re: GM Media Archives The 1982 Camaro Facts section is actually photocopies of the pages from the Camaro White Book. The Specifications pages are from sales materials. The real value is in the invoice, especially if a person already has the other printed materials collected. For someone that is just starting out and doesn't have an extensive library, it's nice to have. |

Re: GM Media Archives That’s cool! Actually incented to lay down the 50 bones now. |
Re: GM Media Archives GM was nice enough to provide some of that info online now. I have the 3rd gen info all saved to my computer. https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/gm-...tion-kits.html |
Re: GM Media Archives The $50 kinda sticks in my craw. I mean for years this was a free service, and it seems a bit petty to charge someone half a hundo for a photocopy of the invoice for their car. I just can't get excited enough about either of my Camaros to pay that much for an invoice. |

Guess there must be a huge contingent of Geo history enthusiasts out there that I didn't know about. |

Man, The Cost Of An Auto Tranny Was Cheap Back In 1982. according to the 1982 dealer order guide. I know the V8 cars (Z28s) had a different 4-speed manual than the 4-cylinder or V6 cars, but was it a much more expensive 4-speed to manufacture? Almost as much as an automatic transmission? |

So how long does it take to get the invoice? I know it says 5-10 days. Does it take a full 10 days or is it quicker? Not so patiently waiting. |
