Spare tire jack question

On my 88’ GTA I am missing quite a few extras in the spare tire area but luckily it does have the aluminum spare, just missing most other items. I was researching on here but wanted some opinions if the jack and accessories in this photo would work? Guy selling claims they came of an 87’ GTA...

Missing a few pieces, but it looks correct for the most part. Some of the threaded hooks have a sharper curve to them.

Re: Spare tire jack question

Thanks for the response, I’ve seen a few different styles of jacks for our cars out there which is why I posted...the picture of the car on the jack looks like an 87’ cavalier too. I was also confused on whether the ratchet works as a lever for the jack too? Ironically my car has the full size aluminum spare and canister. Once I get the car out of storage I will see if it fits.

Tough question. gotta find a guy with an 87 willing to go open up the trunk. was in there a few years back and have a few photos, but a 90. tire mount is somewhat visible. here is what i happen to have. sorry, didn’t take jack photos at the time. i’d find part number and cross reference.

Those photos are great, leads me to believe I need another style jack, I am going to try to get out to my winter storage place and verify.

That pile of crap didn't even all come out of the same car! That jack handle doesn't go with that jack. That jack was common in early cars, but by 88 they'd switched to a screw-drive jack, hence the ratcheting lug wrench instead of a tire iron. The rest of that pile is about right.

The scissor jack slips into a pocket behind the tire, then the plastic T-handle bolt threads into a threaded post that sticks part way through the stowed jack. The eye-bolt goes through the hole in the wrench, and into the threaded hole next to the jack. The hook end of the J hook goes thru the eye of the eye-bolt, and the threaded end goes through the center of the spare. Then there's a large washer that isn't pictured that slips over the bolt to the center of the spare, and finally a wing nut to keep the spare from moving. Also there's a plastic saddle to space the spare up from the bottom, and of course the plastic clip that holds the lug wrench extension to the lug wrench, and the inflator/bracket assembly.

Should look like this...

And when you get all the Jack/Spare parts correctly stowed, legend tells that they will glow like those Sankara stones from Temple of Doom.

That just made my morning, I ordered the proper scissor style jack and accessories. A lot of clowns on fleabay will claim up and down that all styles will work with all years from 82-92 which is obviously wrong. Your detailed photos and the others were a great help and will hopefully help others in a similar situation. I look forward to my trunk glowing in perfect harmony as described.

Also just realized both members who sent pics have what look like Maui blue cars, such a striking color on these cars

the 2nd one appears to be some sort of Camaro Maui Blue from the looks of the spare. :) After seeing the rachet, I now realize what that was in my photo. You can sort of see it, as well as how the tire gets secured.
