Do many people look for the Copper color interior cars

I have a 1986 Camaro Sport Coupe - 2.8l V6 with 5-speed manual transmission and 87,000 original miles..

The car has the "Copper color" interior, and I have the order sheet, receipts, owners manual and all paperwork
from when the car was purchased in 1986.
The interior is almost perfect except for a couple of nicks on the side of the drivers seat and the car runs well overall.
She needs a paint job very badly, whereas she was white in color and has NO known/noticeable rust on her.
The car ALSO has the roof mount console with the odometer, map light, sunglasses holder and actually HAS the original removable
Camaro "flashlight" that pops out.

The dash and ALL interior are original, NO cracks or rips/tears in the dash board, armrest, or and other areas

I was wondering are these cars desirable to Camaro collectors and how "rare" was the copper color interior in 1986.
I know it is "interpretative" for value,, but where would she rate in the desirable world

I am thinking of selling her and moving on to a V8 with an automatic transmission... :O

I have attached a few photos of her,,,

Thank you for your responses and your time.

Certainly the V-6 limits the desirability, but the 5-speed should help. The car looks mostly great but the paint needs work. I like the interior. Unfortunately, I don't think you'll get much for it.

Unfortunately, I don’t think it will bring much money. Not a very desirable combination. I’m guessing a high schooler without much money is the market for the car. If you like the car, your best bet may be to keep it.

I agree with everyone else. I think a young buyer is the market for this car in the $2,500-$3,500 range. It doesn't have a collector value at all, unfortunately.

5 speed is a big plus, and the roof console is cool, but the otherwise lack of options, V6, and de-laminating paint are probably going to put this one in the $2,500 - $3,500 retail range I would think. I think the Copper interior is neat since it's rare, but once again, I don't think it's going to do much for the value. Seems like everyone wants a Black interior anyways.

That car would be an absolute riot with 125hp wet shot on the 2.8. When the rods let go, drop in a fictional 400hp V8 of choice and a 6spd trans, with or without the scooter stick (laughin' gas), and continue partying hard.

Sport Coupes are awesome. They capture the old muscle car look without the plastic fantastic ground FX and other nonsense trying to church up an otherwise boring car. Textbook definition of wolf in sheep's clothing with a little subterfuge. Unfortunately the SC and V6 kills the collector value. Fortunately collector value isn't nearly as fun as pulling the front wheels when the light turns green, while you're next to a Blue Bird full of cheerleaders.

That's a funky color. If you find somebody that likes that then take their offer. It does have some classy touches here and there though.

Anyway, that's an Idaho car so I believe you when you say zero rust. I grew up in the same kind of climate across the border in Washington and my car doesn't have a spec of rust anywhere. Pretty typical for that area.

.... and it would be a shame if somebody cut that up for a race car, which is likely given the price point you'll be at. That car is way too good and solid to be ruined that way! It's got to stay a nice street car, V8 or V6, and get some love with new paint.

I'm already starting to like it in a funky sort of way.

Interesting.....an Idaho car, and he is from Tennessee? I hadn’t noticed the license plates.

ThePoison1, are you trying to buy it, or do you already own it?

Re: Do many people look for the Copper color interior cars

I already bought it and had it shipped down here to Tennessee.
I used the photos of when it was for sale since I had them available and they would come out WAY better than if I took them.

I already have a Antique Auto tag from Tennessee on her and have title in my name and registered......

What was your plan for the car when you bought it?

Re: Do many people look for the Copper color interior cars

I had owned an 1986 sport coupe back in 1986 and sold it in 1993,,, worse decision I had ever made and I regret it to this day...
I saw this one, ... V6 and 5-speed like my old one and it brought back nostalgia.

I bought this one to give to my son in 4 years when he turns 16, but I also have a chance to get a VERY nice 1986 sport coupe... V8 (305) 4 bbl carb
and auto transmission.. It has full power everything, even the Cragar aluminum louver on the back rear window...

It was just a thought about selling it, nothing definite.... (yet) lol...

I always liked the copper interior, and would be willing to pay a little more for a car if I found such an example. Although, a Z28 with the Custom Cloth interior would be ideal. A sport coupe with the base interior, eh... the 5-speed helps.

Buy both. One is good, two is better. Three you start to look foolish. At a half dozen they start to reproduce by masturbation, you don't dare turn the lights out or they'll multiply like Tribbles.

I find having three thirdgens is the magic number.
One that runs, one is a project and the last one is for parts / reference to put the project one back together.
