Horn Question This sounds like a dumb question but im kinda stumped??? On my 89 the horn fell off, and it looks like it was held on with some kind of glue?? is this right or is there some other way that it should be attached? theres 3 little clips were the horn button ligns up with to hold it on and there some kind of hot glue looking material? should i try hot gluing it back on(not sure how it would move then?) or do they make stuff for this? any help we be greatly appreciated:thanks: in advance |
I don't think it was glue on. I think it was plastic standoffs that went through the holes on the metal piece and then flatten by melting just the tips or it was maybe injected molded around the metal. Either way gluing it isn’t going to hold. Here's what I did, I carefully drill a hole in the middle of the plastic stands and tap threads in them and used some epoxy on the thread of some screws and screwed the pieces back together. I hope I explained this clearly enough for you. It worked well for me. Good Luck |
