Steering wheel for GTA with digital dash?

The steering wheel in my GTA is showing it's age, and the cost to rewrap it is more than I want to pay right now ($250 is the best price I could find), so I'm considering adding an aftermarket wheel. I've got a Grant Collector series 1130 in the IROC and it's a nice wheel, but I don't think it would look appropriate in the GTA. The GTA's interior is basically stock except for some Flo Fit seats and an MBA billet shift knob. I want a leather wrapped wheel with an understated appearance. Any suggestions, ideas or pics?

I think you can get a new wrap to recover your steering wheel by yourself. Just stitch it together where the old one used to be. And it uses a thick thread, not a little tiny sewing thread or anything. I'm not sure where you can get that though.

Are you talking about a full kit cut to the proper shape, or are you talking about a generic wheel wrap that just goes around the perimeter? The leather shapes on the GTA wheel are pretty complex and It seems a bit surprising that there's a "DIY" kit out there for it. If there is though, I'd love to see it. Any idea where I could find it?

Well if the leather isn't shot redye it.............otherwise you'll probably have to spend $250.

The leather is cracking.

I'm talking a full cut. Wraps around all the posts of the wheel, not just around the perimeter. Like I said, it has string, instead of thread, so while it would be tedious work, it's not hard. The holes are already punched too.
Again though, I can't remember where I even read about this, or saw it. It was a long time ago and now that I have a GTA with a leather wrapped steering wheel (which the leather covering is completely falling apart in most areas), I would like to find it myself. However, I could be way off. I have been out in the sun for the past couple of days working on my car.

Do what you have to do to get the full wrap. No aftermarket wheel is going to look or be better than the stock on, especially if all of the control buttons work.

The 87-style is something that I may definately consider if I can pick one up right.

However, I found a potential place that will wrap at a wholesale price that's low enough for me to be able to offer it to people affordably. I may have them do my wheel to see if I like the quality before I start to sell them.

My Camaro's original 3 spoke wheel was getting tired and old, so when I swapped in a steering column from a 92 Trans Am (my column was broken) I decided to leave the wheel on. It says Pontiac on the wheel, but I'll replace it with a Camaro one when I find one. I've just always liked the stock airbag wheel.

Obviously I've deactivated it, as I didn't transfer the entire workings. So it won't go off!
