Shift indicator I have an 82 & an 83/84 shift indicators thar need some redoing an dwas wondering if anyone here knew what font & size was used on the plastic shift indicator? Joe |
Re: Shift indicator I beleive when I redid mine, I just used Arial or Tahoma - it's been a long time ago and I don't remember - it was a basic standard font available with a basic Windows install. I might have mixed two fonts to get the numbers plain looking. I spaced out the letters, converted to a pdf, took the file to a local print shop, and the printed it on clear plastic in reverse. Then I just cut to fit and mashed it back in the console. You can download a free pdf maker at download.com - search "bullzip" for a great free little pdf maker. For the worn dirty plastic that slides with the shifter, I went to the arts/crafts store and bought a black plastic portfolio pouch - kinda a plastic file folder that has a flap with a elastic band to close it - was about $7. I cut a piece out of it, drilled a hole for the shifter, and put it i to slide just like the old worn stock piece did. Think I cut it almost twice as long and drilled small holes in the ends, and pop riveted it at the front and back, so that it curls inside. |
Re: Shift indicator I checked those font's no match, but Microgamma, Square 721 & similar fonts are VERY close, but the 1's are off. Joe |
