Upholstery cleaner? Does anyone have any good upholstery cleaner. My car has been sitting for 5 years and the carpet and seats are nasty. |
Re: Upholstery cleaner? It doesn't;'t matter what I've got to clean,.... Bucket of water and a bottle of "Superclean",... If it will 'come out' - that's all you need, Superclean will remove anything other than permanent stains. :driving: |
Re: Upholstery cleaner? I use diluted thieves oil in a spray bottle, its works and it doesn't have any crazy chemicals in it, it smells good too. |
Re: Upholstery cleaner? Barbasol shaving cream works well. Use a soft brush to work it in, let it dry, and then vacuum. It's really just soap in a can. |

Re: Upholstery cleaner? Resolve works well for those carpet stains. But I agree with John superclean rocks. |
Re: Upholstery cleaner? Tuff Stuff works pretty well. I've used the Bissel household carpet/upholstery cleaner machine with warm water a few times in the past. You wouldn't belief the filth you can extract from the upholstery. Avoid cleaning the headliner, rear speaker covers, or sunvisors. The foam backed fabric will usually have deteriorated a bit, and if you so much as touch it, it'll leave a divot and the fabric will wrinkle and fall loose. I also wouldn't put any cleaner on exposed upholstery without first testing it somewhere that you won't mind if it bleaches the cloth. |
Re: Upholstery cleaner? https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...4c9d3a9fae.jpg I bought this a few years ago and love it. I've spilled dark red wine on white-ish carpet, went and pulled this out and it cleaned it perfect. I use it on cars and all interior upholstery. With two little kids I find myself cleaning the couch every other month. I fill one tank with water and super clean or another detergent and go to town. After a vacuum its the best cleaning tool I've bought. |
Re: Upholstery cleaner? Thanks guys I have a carpet cleaner here I am gonna try on the seats and carpet. i read somewhere online about using oxiclean and dish washing soap. Has anyone tried it? |
Re: Upholstery cleaner? Resolve and a shop vac can work wonders.. Here’s a car I did recently https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...8d1d62283.jpeg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...5299246c9.jpeg Trick is to brush it in with water and suds up, let it sit for a few minutes.. then take a damp terry towel and distress the stains more.. suck up the water with a wet vac and let dry. Any remaining stains, use a little spray and a damp terry towel. For carpets just spray, brush with water and work in, then extract with a wet vac.. Similar to extracting with a rug cleaner.. the lubricity and distress loosens grime so it can be sucked up into the vac.. get a scrub brush and a smaller brush for nooks like this.. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...8dff835d3.jpeg I’ve used diluted cleaners like superclean as well but find resolve works really well and is safe on anything I’ve done.. You don’t need to use too much water either.. car should dry quick after running heat for a few.. |

Carpet cleaner a scrub brush, a bucket of water, terry towels and a shop vac can make rugs look brand new.. I wouldn’t mix products but the idea of each product is the same, loosen the stains, dirt, hair, dust, etc and extract it.. |
Re: Upholstery cleaner? Thanks I will remember that. I have a great wet/dry vac that I can use. Thanks for all the help |
