What size fuses? Hi all. Im looking online to replace all my fuses. I dont know how old all of mine are but the car is 32 years old.. so just for the ease of mind, I thought to replace them all. I saw on amazon, there were many different sizes. Does anyone know what size our cars have? Ive got an 86 sport coupe. |
Re: What size fuses? They don't go bad with age. Unless there is a short and they melt, they will last forever. |
Re: What size fuses? Yeah, I know. I just thought it would be good to replace them. I just bought a test light (i think theyre also called circuit tester?). But do you know what size I need? for fuses that is |
Re: What size fuses? The fuses are marked on each end, between the two little test terminals. The color is also an indicator. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...681fd57d2d.jpg |
Re: What size fuses? Seriously Dude, they don't go bad. You can relax :) |
Re: What size fuses? If this is a serious post and you are really replacing your fuses, you replace them, like for like. Pull a 20 amp fuse, replace with a new 20 amp. But why? They do not go bad on their own over time. Also, check your owners manual to be sure what’s in place, is the proper rated fuse. |
Re: What size fuses? Shouldn't need the owners manual. The amperage is usually printed on the fuse block next to the description. But yeah, just grab a hand full of fuses at the pick-n-pull, or start collecting them when you junk a car... Or if you're fortunate to have crazy relatives who clean out their junk drawers, just wait until they bring you a coffee can full of 40amp Maxi-Fuses that are new in the package because they bought half a dozen that one time when their car blew a fuse... Then when you pass away, someone else can take possession of those 40amp Maxi-Fuses because you'll never in your life need half a dozen Maxi-Fuses... I'm only half kidding, 20 years of car enthusiasm, I have a box full of spare bulbs and fuses for all kinds of cars. They just kinda show up and get assimilated into the collective. |
Re: What size fuses? You do not need to replace fuses due to age. Seriously. If you do this, you might as well replace your entire car, it's all just as old. :idiot: |
