Floor mats Hello Everyone. The new carpet I ordered for my GTA came in. Cant wait to get it installed. This has led me to look for floor mats to protect it, since my car doesn't have any. Looking at a few places online, each seem to have slight, subtle differences. Is this just a matter of preference, or are there any opinions on which ones fit the best? Thank you all PJ |
Re: Floor mats If you're looking for the closest thing to original as possible, you can't beat ACC. Got a set of 4 for my RS last year for around $75/shipped from rockauto.com. If you want something aftermarket that's a bit thicker and covers more carpet area than the original mats, I'd recommend Lloyd's. The Lloyd's can get kinda pricey though in comparison. |
Re: Floor mats Back when I replaced the carpet in my Formula, I was thinking the same thing, get floor mats to protect the carpet. Then after careful consideration, I decided I'd be further ahead to just take care of the carpet, and when it eventually wears I can replace it again. Granted I don't drive it as much as I'd like, but it's been 20 years on that ACC carpet and I'm still relatively happy with it. |
Re: Floor mats I second the ACC mats. I spent decent money on embroidered mats from CARMotorsports and look and quality were great, but they're more for show. Almost TOO thick. I'd prefer to simply have ACC plain jane mats that match perfectly. ...I'm gonna pick up a set this spring |

Re: Floor mats I've got a set of part store carpet ones. The color was a great match to the carpet. The rear is a perfect fit, the front shaped to the floor board pretty well: you could spend some time with a heat gun and some weights to get it better. I do wish you could get weather tech or other such molded mats for these cars. Not "show quality" but hey for the price they do the job and I don't stress trying to keep them clean. -- most of the stores will let you take them out and look at them in the car. |
