Where to Buy Sail Panel Clips Does anybody know where to buy sail panel clips? The replacement sail panels I bought don’t have any installed and I’m trying to avoid using Velcro tape. |
Re: Where to Buy Sail Panel Clips Are you talking about the speaker covers? |

Re: Where to Buy Sail Panel Clips Thank you for the suggestions. No luck with the website but I’ll definitely swing by the local dealership and see if they can’t find some. |
Re: Where to Buy Sail Panel Clips And, sorry, yes I was referring to the metal clips that mount to the back of the speaker covers that slide into the plastic interior panel. |
Re: Where to Buy Sail Panel Clips best bet might be to grab some from a local junkyard. five-finger discount style  |
Re: Where to Buy Sail Panel Clips Didn’t even think about a junkyard. Great idea, thank you. |
Re: Where to Buy Sail Panel Clips Cam/birds are slim pickins around central NY and Tampa Fl. too! Good luck on findin' them. Post if you do. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...280e112ae4.jpg Sure is a bunch of them clips on one cover. Bought these from fleabay. |
Re: Where to Buy Sail Panel Clips Those sail panel backings look like they’re plastic. I’ve never seen that. My ‘84 TA has some kind of pressboard / fiberboard backings and the clips are separate metal pieces. |
Re: Where to Buy Sail Panel Clips Early cars were masonite with metal clips bonded in place. Later cars were plastic with the clips molded in. Not sure what year they switched over - 88, 89, 90, somewhere in there. |

Re: Where to Buy Sail Panel Clips Heres a original speaker cover off my 84: It is cardboard with metal clips. (Prob. the same crummy cardboard they used in the headliner!) https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...3f690e1a58.jpg Here are the used fleabay covers I bought: https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...4584ced963.jpg I wonder what the used fleabay covers I bought have on them? Can't really see the "hooks" clearly so dont know if they are metal or molded in plastic. |

The fabric is in great shape. YES, the "clips" are moulded in the plastic backs like seen in the pic. Only the coat hanger/screw assem. secures the panel to the B pillar. |
