The'optional' LS1 swap stuff..

So I'm in the process of stipping the 2000 down and taking everything out of my 92 and I'm stuck trying to decide what to do.

I've got the just of it down and here's what I've found to be 'optional':

Tube crossmember
Headers
Engine work
AC stuff

Here's my thoughts, but I'm looking for input. The crossmember is nice because of no notching. I'm not sure if it will work with stock A-arms so that may be more cost. I could use the AC bracket, but at $300 I might as well by the crossmember. A lot of people recommend it for using LT's, but the only LT's available fit with the stock crossmember no problem.

The LT's are nice, but expensive. If I did want them later I'll have to pay for more exhaust work to make it work. My car is lowered pretty good, but from pics it looks like it's not lower than the transmission. Looks like the optional y-pipe is lower, so I could get Drew's crossmember and keep it tight. Just not sure if it's worth it.

Engine work before or after the swap?? Can't afford a H&C swap, but could possible afford just the cam. I'm wondering if it's worth it just on the cam, or should I wait. A H&C swap would definitely be easier on a 3rd gen later on. I'll do most the quicky easy stuff, but I'm just not sure how much work on a engine I want to do that might not run correctly at first fire due to swap issues.

Still unsure on the AC too. I think I'm pretty much not going to go with the bracket, but still need AC lines and notch the crossmember or get a tubular one..

At this point I think I'm going tubular, custom AC lines, just the headers, Drew's crossmember with a custom y-pipe, and no engine work.

Just looking for thoughts/opinions.

You could do a Cam only and that would work out really well. The stock heads on an LS1 flow really well already stock. There are guys making big power Cam only.

im doing a cam only 6 liter with 4.8 heads, ls-6 with tnt kit. to be honest everyone i have seen with a cam only 5.7 has gone hight to mid 11's even without headers. the ls1 manifolds are excellent

so far thunder racings CheaTR cam with headers has made 400whp. not only is it a grat power cam but will also pick up mpg. specs are as follows: 215/230 600/578 these are xer lobes i believe.
EDIT: fastest cam only 4th gen went 10.23
