New LT1 converted intake 2 Attachment(s) Well navigated the April fools, sortof.. Just though some of you folks would want to see the new project, or part of it that is going on my LT1 stroker. It is a converted supervic with a sullivans elbow. The elbow actually takes a ford BBK 62mm throttle body. I needed to get a ford to GM iac conversion piece and a ford to gm tps harness.. custom cam will go with it matched to the intake and TFS heads I had Lloyd Elliot work up. Project82LT1 is currently down for the count getting what I guess could be phase two projects done to engine, suspension, etc.. Don't expect dyno numbers for a while, but figured you guys might like the teaser.. The work was done by Bauer Racing Engines, but not cheap.. |
That's kinda neat. I wonder how it'll perform compaired to a comprably prepared LT1/LT4 intake. |
There is no comparably prepped LT1/4 intake, even ported the LT1/4 intake can't be compared to this.. a custom sheetmetal would be the only comparison.. about another grand or two more expensive.. This is pretty intensive stuff, not for the average build..I decided on the conversion after alot of research over on the advanced tech section of cz28.com just do a search for single plane. Then a lot of chatting with engine builders and Lloyd Elliot, should be good for over 450rwhp n/a, with a fairly mild hydraulic roller, or over 500 with a solid roller..how much is to be seen later.. |
It's good to see someone else pushing the limits. I have been working on converting a stealthram intake to work on my Lt1. I have had it on but need to mill some length from the runners,as I was hitting a wall before I wanted to shift. Did you do the work yourself or did someone build it for you? Either way it looks great. Kory |
Thanks! I thought hard about switching my setup to a LSx based engine but just as soon as I posted my engine f/s it span a bearing.. sooo for less money that converting to a fresh head and cam LS I decided to pust the LTx limits and see if I can't embarrass a few folks along the way.. I had bauer racing engines do the conversion and custom cam for me.. I am not proficient enough to attempt the amount of aluminum welding that was done.. not to mention the cutting and smoothing of the thermostat housing.. |
It looks good. Bret does good work. I have a le2 cam that he ground. Kory |
He was good to work with, it was nice to find someone that doesn't hold onto their advanced knowledge like it was diamonds.. |
