Painless Wiring for LS1 swap, which one?

Ok so i was all about doing my own wiring at first but now i'm lazy, i just put together 3 wiring harness at work for a Fast EFI BBC, Electromotive EFI BBC and an Accel DFI BBC, and frankly i'm sick of tracing wires so i wanna buy a Painless harness for my swap and just drive my car!!.. First i have an 2001 LS1 T56 combo, looking in summit, jegs, and on the painless websites i'm finding that there are 3-4 different ones, which did you buy??

Part #
60507 - 97-01 LS1 harness 4 foot extra length; Performance modification includes elimination of non-required computer functions and bypass of VATS

60508 - 99-02 LS1 Using Camaro/Firebird Factory PCMs (service numbers 9354896 or 12200411). This plug and play harness is the easiest way to transplant an LS1 using the stock ECM. Also available as an 4' extra length harness #60509

there is a 200 dollar price difference between the two? i dont know why or what is the difference? Any help or tell me which one u purchased??

Thanks a bunch,
MIke

honestly, ive found the painless wiring kits harder to match into stock 3rdgen wiring then the stock fbody harnesses are....

thanks for the reply Mr.Dude, can u elaborate alittle bit on what is harder or more involved? The main thing i'm running into is when the guy i got motor and all from stripped everything out he snipped a few connectors, some of the wires are sorta brittle already from weather and heat. I thought it'd be easier to start with a new fresh harness even tho it is expensive. Isnt here only a few hookup's anyway? such as ignition, gages, relays fro fuel and MAF? I do not have my stock TPI harness because i switched to a carb and now i'm switching back to injection again.. any help or advice would be great! thanks again,

Mike

I used Howell-EFI on mine. It worked out great, i had used thenm previously when helping a friend put an LT1 in his 89 C1500 truck. Very easy to hook everything up and i located everything under the dash using a 2-1/4 hole under the Heater Box. When I say everything I mean ECM, relays, Fuse Panel, Diognostic port, and whatever else i could get out of the engine bay. My harness is completely unseen for the most part. The harness was $711.00 shipped. Only thing that had to be wired to it was ignition, constant battery, tach, and fuel pump wire that comes off the bulkhead. The starter wires and guages all come from the stock wiring harness that is in your car. I was in the process of using the stock harness but it was intimidating plus there were extra wires that i didnt need not to mention i deleted all the emissions stuff....jt

good deal jt  i'm gonna go look into that harness right now, i'm in the same boat you were, extra wires, missing connectors, the harness needs to be cleans up good to as i am a neat freak, so starting witha fresh harness is my best bet ;)

Do u or anyone else have a web site for howell? i tried searching, not comming up with anything..??

The description on the LS1 harness is alittle confusing so i called them on the phone and talked to a tech person. The $711 shipped included both Fan hook ups and the VSS hook up for the trans. The sight makes it look like it costs extra but it doesnt. i guess if you are using an auto trans you have to pay extra but thats something you would have to ask them. It only took a few days to get it in. Not to mention i calleed tech yesterday and they were quick to awnser my questions. Made it very easy......jt
