carb setup to lt1
 

hi i got an 86 camaro that had been swapped before me from a 305carb to 350 carb and i just finished dropping a lt1 in it and i would like to know wwhat i could do about the fuel pump assembly my motor is from a fleetwood so iam going with the stock fuel pump now i need to know what assembly i could get for the intank fuel pump and which relay... was thinking from a 2.8 mpfi and then just changing the fuel pump but would that bolt on or no?

also i need a sending unit mines dont seem to mark good it moves up and down where could i get one or is it the gauge?

Use the in-tank pump for a TPI car maybe...?

Upgrade to a pump that you are positive can feed the lt1 and keep it at the necessary pressure. A walboro 255 pump will do the trick, or a fuel pump from an lt1 car. The walboro can be purchased new from summit or jegs, the lt1 fuel pump can be bought at a local auto parts store or from a junkyard.

i know what i mean from getting it from a tpi is to just use the assembly and then put the stock lt1 pump the thing is could i get it from like a 2.8 or anyother v6 is the assembly the same?

i don't think the v6 used the same fuel pump. i could be wrong though.

If you mean the pick-up itself, it is the same V6, TPI, or TBI.

I had to swap the entire hard-metal fuel lines out(from engine bay to fuel tank) from a fuel injected thirdgen. Fuel injection hard-lines are different. Also needed a fuel injection sending unit for the thirdgen tank.

Yes, wasn't clear, but I meant EFI pick-up assemblies.

Tank baffling also changed between carb and EFI cars. You might want to pick up an entire EFI tank and put a good pump in it like the Walbro.

The lines are different, but can be modified. Up to the individual there.

Internally (baffles), but not externally. The pick-up attachment is the same.

Yes. But, the baffling will be different than an EFI tank.

Would the different baffling make it so that with a low tank when taking a hard corner would result in gas not being in the area where the fuel pump is and also resulting in not sucking in gas when taking the hard corner? Or what would the different baffling cause or not cause?
