Just swap it out for another one sounds easiest to me no?

Did you resolve this problem? I'm in the same situation. I've heard of using a 3rd gen wiper column switch, but does it plug right in to the 4th gen harness under the column? Or do you need to do more wiring for it to work right. Of course I will still need to splice the 3rd gen motor to the 4th gen harness. Any help is appreciated thanks.

If you're using a 4th gen column you can make it work without swapping switches, however it will be limited to either hi or low speed.
From the 4th gen wiper harness you should have 5 pins: ground, constant power (yellow), hi power(purple), and independent washer/wiper power. From the third gen harness you should have six pins on the delay system.
You can wire constant 12 (yellow) to the second wire from the six pin harness (the relay that clicks to full swipe). Then wire hi power (purple) to the third pin which powers the top pin. This pin is then wired to the high or low pins on the motor harness. The lower six pins won't be used.

Although it is not ideal, it does work.
