3rd gen k-member and lsx mounts Hi, I have a question (obviously - lol) I have a stock notched k-member and spohn adapter plates. I know how it is positioned on the k-member, but I want to know what bolts everyone is using. Meaning are there stock bolts, or is there something else, grade would help. Since it is a bolt and nut, what torque specs is everyone using? Also, when I get my engine, what torque specs should I use to tighten the mount to the block. Is there anyone that sells a complete bolt kit for the engines? The latter I have not looked into much, but I nevertheless would like a little advise. Thanks guys. ps: swap is near... my charcoal canister failed today and I took it on the highway at high speed, felt like the transmission was going to shake loose and come through the floor. I can't wait for the swap! |
Re: 3rd gen k-member and lsx mounts Mount bolts arent critical, use whatever is available, originals work fine. Torque values arent critical either, google the industry standard for whatever size/grade bolt you use if worried about it I use grade 5 3/8" bolts with lock washers torqued as tight as my stubby spark plug ratchet can get them (30ish lb/ft) |
Re: 3rd gen k-member and lsx mounts All the bolts are M10x1.5 so you can use the same 37 lb-ft torque for everything. The large thru-bolt in the engine mount is 70 lb-ft. Reuse the K-member bolts. You might need to get another set to make it four per side. |
Re: 3rd gen k-member and lsx mounts well that's a start, thx Pocket .:) |
