LS1/4l60e swap in 86 Z28 Well I had planned on building a nice AFR headed 383 for my 86 since my daily driver 2001 SS was already an LS car. Well I ended up totaling my daily and breaking my neck. I loved the SS and kick myself in the *** everyday for what happened, so I figured the only way to pay tribute to it is take the ls1 which had 85,000 miles on it and put it in my Z28. I'll be updating this build thread once my neck heals. Pics are the SS and my Z28 together, and the SS after the wreck. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...a4faffd903.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...ca147042d3.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...2aa1102d15.jpg |
Re: LS1/4l60e swap in 86 Z28 oh no! god bless! so sorry to hear of your wrecked SS. What are your plans for the build? |
Re: LS1/4l60e swap in 86 Z28 Looks like you are a lucky man to be alive after that! Nice looking Z28 you have to put the donor engine in. |
Re: LS1/4l60e swap in 86 Z28 My plans are to swap the ls1 into untouched and maybe put a 3800 or so stall in the 4l60e. And I am very lucky to be alive. |
Re: LS1/4l60e swap in 86 Z28 Dang that sucks but glad your still here with us. Looks awful. This past week a guy by my house was hit broadside by a truck in a 35mph zone and it looked like that. Unfortunately he died. |
Re: LS1/4l60e swap in 86 Z28 Sorry to hear that. In the end it's just a car. I wanted one for a long time but I guess I'll have to get another one down the road. I miss it everyday and want to get another one immediately but I guess I need to wait a little bit. I wish I could tell you what happened but I hid my head in the wreck and don't even remember driving that night. Regardless I know I was going to fast like always, well my luck finally ran out. Let this be a lesson to anyone who takes curves aggressively |
