Firebirds in movies and tv shows
 

Hi everyone, I noticed a thread on camaros in movies, so I decided I would start one for birds. For some reason I always seem to see way more 3rd gen camaros in movies than firebirds. Aside from Knight Rider I honestly have hardly seen any 3rd gen birds in movies or shows. However I just found out that in the movie the Big Hit, Mark Wahlberg plays a hitman and drives a yellow 3rd gen firebird formula. I havn't seen the movie, but heres the link to the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8ymxShEpUI. You can see it drifting at about 2:04 in the trailer. Unfortunatly it also explodes off of a cliff :(. Anyway I'd be really interested in seeing what everyone comes up with.

There is white one that Hannibal is sitting in during the first episode of The A-Team. I *think* I also saw a couple/few others here and there in the first couple seasons. Not much in the later seasons though IIRC.

in the tv show the office one off the office workers drives a trans am gta. and they show it alot on the tv show.

I always thought it was a Camaro but then I never really watched that show so I dunno. :P

i beleive smokey and the bandit 3..... i beleive its a 3rd gen.. it looks real close to the Knight Rider car.

There was a red Formula in Gone in 60 Seconds that Kip Raines drove at the very beginning before it got crushed with him in it. :(

theres a red camaro convertible in the movie "it". and "the stand" has a blue camaro in it. both stephen king movies.

i know its not a 3rd gen but daybreakers the vampire movie that just came out has a sick 2nd gen bandit transam in it.

The move ExTerminators, which is coming out in May, features a red Firebird that gets crashed through a cinder block wall. I stumbled across the car on eBay.

You have to look close but in the movie "TOP GUN" Tom Cruise's GF is chasing him in her little convertable as she blasts through a intersection forcing a black 85-86 T/A to slam on the brakes...the T/A sits there for a moment before proceding through the intersection.

Oh, no. It looks like this '91 won't be starring in any more films. Also, as the owner of a car with t-tops, I have to say that the third shot makes me want to make sure I keep it shiny side up.

I can't stand those german shows, they keep destroying nice cars for stupid stunts. There's one called "Alarm für Cobra" that always begins with a big car collision on on the Autobahn. Last time I saw it, a Ferrari 308 was badly crashed...I've seen a few Camaros, a Caprice, and many others, it's not as if those car were common here. I'm sure they're trying to make their show look like american shows.

If you want to see third gens, you need to watch Miami Vice. You can find at least one thirdgen in almost every episode it seems. The cars are sometimes prominently featured in some of the chase sequences. In the pilot episode in one of the early scenes the character of Sonny Crockett drives a Camaro of some kind in pursuit of a criminal. Later in the same episode the character Ricardo Tubbs is seen driving a early black and gold Trans Am. In later episodes I've seen a 1984 Trans Am convertible, 1985 blue and silver Trans Am, and a gray Camaro featured in chase scenes. There are also tons of Camaros seen in background shots.

McGuyver or virtually anything else from the 80's will show them. You only see them in background shots in Airwolf and you see at least one yellow IROC-Z driven by McGuyver which he had to hotwire. He drove that car for much of the episode.

The Macgyver episode "Collision Course" features a race between mid 80s Trans Ams and Camaros. Macgyver naturally wins it in his Trans Am :)

Yeah it was always one of my favorite episodes as a kid. It wasn't until years later that I realized what the cars were.

I watched a movie last night ... "Hard Cash" starring Christian Slater - he drives a 3rd gen Camaro in the movie - but about 1/3 into it, there is a long chase scene - there were so many 3rd gen birds that got wrecked in the chase scene, that I couldn't keep count.
