The Bandit Is Gone

Sad news this afternoon as Burt Reynolds, infamous as the "Bandit", has passed away. I grew watching Burt Reynolds during the height of his career. The guy was a legend. Although the Bandit drove a 2nd gen Trans Am which became iconic and synonymous with Burt Reynolds, I still feel it appropriate to mention him here in tribute and relive some of the memories of my youth. Feel free to add any comments or memories of your own.

Thanks for the memories, Burt. RIP Bandit.

Loved the bandit Trans Am as a kid.. probably what got me into third gens.. Always thought Burt was super cool as a kid and had a bunch of matchbox versions of bandit T/As..

I was shocked to hear the news today.. RIP Mr. Reynolds..

Smokey and the Bandit is the sole reason why I got interested in cars. Before that I only liked semi trucks
R.I.P Burt Reynolds

Re: The Bandit Is Gone

I have lived here in his hometown since Smokey and the Bandit was released. It is truly a sad day here. I have been out to his ranch, watched them film Smokey and The Bandit 2 right here in Jupiter. We watched them film the scene where Jackie's cop car gets stuck across the top of the open draw bridge. He started multiple theatres here in town (one as an actor training) has helped this community in more ways than just his stardom. I got to see him a few months back @ BJ action here in WPB. He has and always will be one of my favorite actors and personalities, I will miss him being part of this community. Rest in peace Mr. Reynolds :goodjob:
