Craigslist finds, good and bad I am everyday scouring craigslist for killer deals for 3rd gens, maybe its just me and please school me if I'm wrong but prices have gone threw the roof. I don't mind paying for good parts but wow. Anyway please chime in.http://delaware.craigslist.org/pts/3961663185.html |
Re: Craigslist finds, good and bad Ok I just put my foot in my mouth on that link for the rear. Heading says $800 but the body says $250 sounds more like it. |
Re: Craigslist finds, good and bad I saw that one yesterday for $800 too. I think they changed it today. |
Re: Craigslist finds, good and bad 1 Attachment(s) coming soon, to a trailer park near you... http://easternshore.craigslist.org/cto/3901948400.html This one sat in a front yard, within walking distance of my house...since I moved here. At least 6 years, this car has never moved. Made its first Craigs appearance about 3 years ago, for $3K. Looks like it finally sold, and they are so proud, they did not delete the posting. They put "SOLD" in the title. They should have taken a picture of the screwed-in cowl hood, might have sold faster. |

So you would rather watch a straight Third Gen sit and rot for 6 years than resurrect it? If they had it for $1000, you shoulda been able to pick it up for $7-800. Id pick up a straight bodied shell with interior for 800... Cars deserve second chances too! |

Then, by all means, start collecting! :lmao: Some people are keen on multiple cars on blocks in backyards, engines hanging from tree's, and large piles of tires laying in the woods. I'm not that kind of person. But I won't judge you. |

I've seen several ads recently with prices that are unreasonable, IMO. Usually car dealers are the ones asking absurd prices for 3rd gen F-bodies, but private sellers are not immune. http://i1242.photobucket.com/albums/...L7-29-2013.png http://orlando.craigslist.org/cto/3967875270.html Thought this one was interesting and maybe a great candidate for a DD. Ad started at $5,000; then went down to $4,800 and now to $4,500. I haven't seen the car in person and from the pics it looks all original, nice and straight. But they're asking way too much. http://i1242.photobucket.com/albums/...-29-201301.png http://orlando.craigslist.org/cto/3939328028.html So how many miles are on the top one?? Is that 1,000 - 10,000 - 100,00 or what? I've never seen a car worth $10,000 sitting in the backyard being overcome by weeds especially when it was being sold. I love some of these CraigsList ads that say perfect condition except for this, that, and oh by the way, other things. most have poor pictures and little to no information....Ok back to topic, I'm over my rant! |
Re: Craigslist finds, good and bad Ok...Here's my contribution. If you hurry, it's still there. http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/3938500443.html |

Re: Craigslist finds, good and bad 2 Attachment(s) $2500 for a basketcase that needs major work, inside and out, or $5000 for this beauty. 49,000 mile survivor. My favorite thirdgen color. The only way it gets better is 5.7... Guess it would help if I added the link: http://delaware.craigslist.org/cto/3951450150.html |
Re: Craigslist finds, good and bad 80$ for a mint dash pad out of a 88 Iroc with 57k miles that had just been totaled! |
Re: Craigslist finds, good and bad just found this one, though its not a 3rd gen ad, Please note the empty 40oz, sun glasses and the bible. http://images.craigslist.org/00w0w_3...6J_600x450.jpg |
Re: Craigslist finds, good and bad 1 Attachment(s) Now, here is an IROC of a different flavor! Youngsters out there have probably never seen one before. I only ever saw one, way back in the day. Ugly as sin. $3600? I think not |
Re: Craigslist finds, good and bad I really hope this guy forgot to proof read his post....sure people are calling all the time about it....90K miles and only $24K!...Probably one of those 'rare, special edition' Trans Ams that is one of thousands... http://kalamazoo.craigslist.org/cto/3956531021.html I lucked out last year and found a good deal on an 89 GTA with 25K original miles! It's in my garage. |
Re: Craigslist finds, good and bad Selling parts still in car, that's a new strategy. Pay now and they will be used even more when and if you get them. Why didn't I think of that http://delaware.craigslist.org/pts/3989535316.html http://delaware.craigslist.org/pts/3989523494.html |
Re: Craigslist finds, good and bad In my seemingly neverending search for an IROC hood I stumbled upon this. http://baltimore.craigslist.org/pts/3874798475.html I just couldnt resist responding to it with this: "Thanks for posting that ad. I really needed a good laugh. You may want to remove some of the silliness like " will fit any sports car or truck" (only will fit 93-2002 camaro), "Will increase horsepower" (Seriously?!!??! How?), "will increase speed" (only if you other hood was a parachute) Place a truthful ad and maybe someone will take you seriously and buy it." The guy didn't take my constructive criticism too well:lmao: |

Re: Craigslist finds, good and bad http://delaware.craigslist.org/cto/4013580101.html I'm calling BS on the IROC claim $15K? Seriously? |
Re: Craigslist finds, good and bad I'm with you why would they block out the vin? carfax info maybe. Still for me way over priced. |
Re: Craigslist finds, good and bad Not an Iroc with those wheels. Garage kept? Just for grins, I google mapped the address. It doesnt even have a garage. It does however have big oil spots in the driveway. It says never in an accident or taken apart. Gap on the front of the drivers door looks bigger than the pic in '88. Owned by a little old lady, probably only driven to church on Sundays. |

Re: Craigslist finds, good and bad 1 Attachment(s) Look at this ultra-low mile survivor. Best thirdgen color, best interior, best engine. Only thing it's missing is t-tops. A real beauty: http://southjersey.craigslist.org/cto/4064893521.html |
Re: Craigslist finds, good and bad 1 Attachment(s) Nice price, for what appears to be a super-clean 92 vert. http://delaware.craigslist.org/cto/4029418413.html |
Re: Craigslist finds, good and bad Check this one out. MGB powered by a 1988 Camaro 2.8V6. Now that something you don't see every day. http://frederick.craigslist.org/cto/4082772825.html |
Re: Craigslist finds, good and bad Scroll threw the bullshit, and you will come across some damn good deals. Be ready to travel to pick it up most of the time it's 2-300 miles away. If you tell them your going that far you can buy with cash for about 500-1000$ off asking price. Works 80% of the time. |
Re: Craigslist finds, good and bad If I come across a true deal I will buy it just so it doesn't go to the junk yard. My current project is a no rust '87 IROC manual roller with the bose system. I paid $750. Some of the 3rd gens around here are going for top dollar, but they are rust free and that is rare in my neck of the woods. Case in point I had a numbers matching 5.7 TPI '88 GTA with an auto trans that I sold to a guy four years ago. This is a fairly rare and desirable car that is now sitting in the local U-Pull It lot and they won't sell it back to me. |

Re: Craigslist finds, good and bad http://harrisonburg.craigslist.org/cto/4106542751.html the cars are located i think right across the wv va border. i talked to the guy he told me he would take $1500 for the 82 pace car i think thats deal with all the money he has tied in it. and heck you could even just take the motor tranny and rear end and resell as a roller |
Re: Craigslist finds, good and bad http://raleigh.craigslist.org/pts/4083886753.html. I could never afford them but would love to have them. They are for a vette but I figured they would fit a 3rd gen with spacers. |
Re: Craigslist finds, good and bad 1 Attachment(s) http://norfolk.craigslist.org/cto/4087912273.html I just bought this car today. The guy had been posting it for a few days. He started out at $2800. I got it a week and a half later at $900. It's the 5.7 Z28. It has dual exhaust coming out the sides near the rear tires and hooker headers. The interior was pretty straight too. It needs a new stereo system, dash gauge cluster, and I'm sure sure a few other things. The guy's wife was crawling down hs neck wanting him to sel it. I happily helped her out with that ;). I think I got a steal even with the issues. Here's another pic of it |
