Street Legal Headers in California?

Hey guys. I'm moving from North Carolina to Santa Cruz, CA and need some advice. I really want to bring my 88 GTA (LB9) with me but I'm not sure what I need to do to pass CA emmisions. It currently has short tube headers (not sure of the brand). Are these or any headers street legal in California. Also, the smog pump has been removed. I'm sure I will have to put a smog pump on the car but it won't be functional without using the original exhaust manifolds, right? What do I need to do? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

You will need to have the air system too

So i should be able to use my headers as long as the air system can be hooked up? As long as the air sytem is there and the emmissions levels are within range will they check to make sure the air system is actually functional, or can I get by with it just being there?

The headers need to be "CARB" approved and have a "CARB" sticker to go with them. It doesn't matter if you have AIR tubes in your headers, if they don't have that sticker, no pass. If your headers do NOT have air tubes, I guarantee you they aren't CARB approved.

I suggest you find out what brand/model headers you have and see if they are 50-state-legal. (Like I said if they don't have AIR tubes don't bother, they're coming off.) If they are you should be able to get a sticker mailed to you from the manufacturer. If they aren't then you're going to be taking them off unless you wanna go "underground".
