5 point harness installation questions?

One the anchors for the seat belts I don't have room to install them flat, is it alright to bend them 90 degrees? The same goes for the submarine belt. Is it alright to bend it about 30 degrees?

I got the RJS 5 points and did'nt have to bend a thing-had to grind out a slot in the old lap belt housing to get the harness to bolt up-it's very tightly touching both seats though, but does'nt interfere with it's operation of sliding, other than that it was a quick bolt in propostion

You wouldn't happen to have some pics of your install that you could post. I got mine sorted out now but I would like to see how you did yours so easily.

Don't really have any "up and personal pics." but I'll give ya what I got. PS I got a 6 point cage so the shoulder harness was the simplest to install:) The submarine belt, I had to drill a hole through the floor board and install a 4" x 4" x 1/4" plate under the floor pan for the submarine belt bolt to go through. but the 2 lap belts as stated bolted right into the factory areas using the same factory bolts.

pass. side, probably not your perfect pics for what you want to know, but it's realitivly easy to figure out, just make sure where you go through the floor pan to install a peice of steel to help reinforce it in case you should ever need it.

You must have seen something I couldn't. On the door sill side I could not see how to install the RJS mount to the factory seat belt point and have it pointed in the same directions as the belt needs to run. One the console side if I bolted the mount directly to the factory mount hole the belt would be tight against the console.

My RJS 5 points came with a slight bend where the bolt goes through for attachment. Where I cut a slit on the door side in the plastic case that covers the old lap belt, I mounted the the tab so it made the harness bracket angle up-if ya know what I mean. I got a 4th gen console so I don't know if that makes a difference, but on the tranny tunnel side I mounted the harness bracket so it put the belt itself tilting away from the console. Kinda make sense what I'm saying? Maybe the lap belt tabs are straight, **** I can't remember right now, but if you have to bend them a little to make it work it sure is'nt going to hurt anything so long as you can still get the bolt through and be able to get a torx socket back in the bolt head to tighten it.

The tabs on my RJS harness were perfectly flat. I called the head tech guy at the local track and he said they were not to be altered in any way including bent 10 degrees. I will take some pics of the mounts my buddy welded and bolted into the car for me. It will be a day or two as it is snowing here again.
