Man, here's how I see it. I think NOS is totally fair, and here's why. Although alot of people complain about it how much power you can add for so little money, you gotta realize that if your motor isn't set up right, your gonna blow the thing up in a heartbeat. I figure, if you got the money to build a motor strong enough to handle a nitrous hit time and time again, more power to ya! https://www.thirdgen.org/messageforum3/biggrin.gif |
I wouldn't say its cheating, but I don't like it. I just don't like the idea of horsepower at the touch of a button. I would much rather have the power all the time. |
It's not cheating, but it's lame to have it on a stock engine and be fast only on the bottle. Yah, I don't think it's cheating. You can run NOS all day long if ya want, but it'll be funny when you blow the motor. I see these ***** kids run NOS all the time thinking they have the baddest car around and when they blow the engine they look for some little mechanical problem, or blame the car engine manufacturer for not putting in better parts stock. If ya build it where you can use it effeciently and continuously without many ill effects, then more power to ya. Like in my case I'd love to run 11's, but on my budget, NOS seems to be the only way possible. I'm not saying i'm going to spray the motor on every street race i'm going to get into, just when i'm really in need and want to win :-). Rediculous to think it's cheating unless someone blatantly lies about it. If you can bolt it on, it's fair. The nice thing about NOS, is that you can run against a wider range of cars. If I line up against a high 12 or low 13 car, I close the bottle. If he's low 12's or into the 11's, I spray. The only time I consider it cheating, is if you hide it. If someone won't run me because of the bottle, I invite him to watch me close it, and purge the lines. ------------------ 91 Firebird Formula. I agree with formula-91.. If you're not hiding it, it's fair game.. But if you claim to be just motor, but are actually running the squeeze, that's just not cool.. I'm tired of folks whining about how nitrous is cheating (pet peeve - its Nitrous, not NOS... nos is just a manufacturer...) An engine is just a pump. The more oxygen ya move through it, the more hp it makes. It doesn't matter if you get more O2 to it by nitrous, forced induction, or just by having a larger camshaft and headers. Simple fact: Those who cry about it either don't have it, don't know how to properly utilize it, or don't have enough of it!!! For those of you who are scared of it because of potential damage, I've personally "SPRAYED" over 30 bottles of a 250 shot on a 350 with Kieth Black Hypereutectic pistons with NO problems!!! It's all in HOW you use it. I've got nothing to hide. If you don't want to race me because I have it.. So-be-it.. No hard feelings.. But If we do race and you loose, don't be a baby about it, just take your dose of medicine like the many others and PAY ME MY MONEY!!!! |

It is not cheating at all! if you want a blower fine, if you want nos fine, if ya want to be na fine! The advantage of NOS is the fact that you can make N/A runs all day. The you have alot of guys who run blowers that say well NOS is cheating and i like my power all the time! To them I say this: "BLOW ME AND ILL SPRAY............" Its a blower in a bottle as far as Im concerned. Oh ya and I love S/C too, I just like NOS better... ------------------ |

Just wondering, can you supercharge an engine and have NOS? I dont know anything about cars, I like racing, even when I lose its fun to be able to play around with the car, but I pay to have work done. (I know im gonna get flamed to hell for that, but oh well) Anyway, can I supercharge it and have like a 100hp boost of NO? |
Steves91Formula, I posted this same question a while back before thirdgen went down... The responses I got were all "yes!" and that it is good... Supercharging warms up the air, and the n2o will help cool it down..
