i have a ds1 procharger it says not to use a pcv valve. i bought a allstar performance catch can. i have afr195 heads with stock valve covers both have a small breather hole that the old owner of the car just has a hose running to nothing just venting out under the hood. iam looking for a fitting to put into the small holes so i can run AN fittings from both valve cover holes to catch can.

if i cant use AN fittings and line. i need to find fittings to put in valve covers to run rubber lines to catch can.

Just use hose barb and coolant line. Else weld a bung on the covers

orr89 i was looking at picts of your car where did you get your barbs? i looked at advance couldnt find them.

Some auto stores has them. Bigger ones i order from summit. Sometimes lowes or home depot have them too.

orr89 do you have a pict of the hose barbs you used? iam running stock valve covers. both have the small holes for the pcv.

I used plastic barbs 90 deg for the valve covers but i have aftermarket stuff. Then hose barbs in the catch can bungs. Believe its 3/8-1/2 npt thread moroso can.

Why not use a pcv valve? I ask as it doesn't seem to make sense to me.

I'm using an Allstar Performance catch can as well. It's hooked to one valve cover only though. I have a vacuum pump hooked to the second port on the catch can, via a hose of course, that turns on just as the motor gets into boost and shuts off once 2" of vacuum is achieved. The hose from the catch can goes to a valve cover mounted breather with a 1/2" nipple on it (a low budget breather from the local auto parts store.) The vacuum pump is from either an 01 or 02 Pontiac Grand Prix or Grand Am from the local JY. It was used as an air pump by the OEM, and I hooked the vac line to what was originally the clean air intake port. It makes 3-4" of vac at 12 v and 5ish at 14 volts.

I tried running it without the vacuum pump and at approx 7 psi either the pcv valve would leak around the grommet or push out and/or the dipstick would get pushed out. I don't believe in sealing the crankcase and dipstick to keep them from leaking as that means the crankcase pressure is too high and then I'd be expecting to see leaks at the valve covers, front and rear seal, and timing cover. This has been running for over 2000 relatively hard miles and there are no leaks anywhere on the engine. FWIW, this is the most leak proof SBC I've ever built and I think the vac pump setup is the reason.

I bought all of the fittings, brass, from the local truck dealership that makes hydraulic hoses for less than $5 a piece.

I would assume that you're using check valve(s) for your brake booster line. I used the same type of check valve on the pcv line as well.

I was a nervous Nellie about oil leaking from the valve covers onto the header wrap and igniting. Maybe I over engineered the whole mess, but for less than $125 I thought it was worth it.

What pcv valve do you use? My stock one i can physically blow thru it myself, let alone what boost pressure from the turbo would do. My 305 car was blowin out the dipstick til i took the stock pcv out

The 1/4" valve. There is one threaded into the stock PCV port location and the picture shows the one for the brake booster.
