5.3 what turbo? Trying to get advice on what turbo to run for a single set up. I found this one for a good deal, looking for around 600hp. Re: 5.3 what turbo? 600 at the tire? Thru what trans? or 600 flywheel? might squeeze 600 flywheel out of that single 65mm. Turbine is touch smaller than i’d like. Will spool fast. Would prefer a larger a/r 600 at the tire i would go bit larger esp on turbine side. I like s366 borg stuff, or the turbonetics hurricanes- 7268 is fantastic a single on3 t70 or t76 on a budget works decent. Could see 500’s whp. Their 7875 is much better fit and will do over 600 whp |

Just want a reliable 5.3 that I can beat on for awhile and I figure these engines are good for much more bone stock |

Re: 5.3 what turbo? I choose S364 Borg Warner for a 5.3L in a street/strip (mostly street) https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...93d29cedb5.png Works well in a stock 5.3 w/ cam upgrade. Runs right through the center and off the right side like a factory turbo would. So basically it spools like a stock turbo would on a stock engine, which is what you want in a daily driver. Works well even when 'warming up'. Doesn't require pre-heating, nitrous, or a two step to make boost, etc... Also 840~ (brake) horsepower capable, which is more than most OEM bottom end 5.3 engines will support anyways. heres a video and data log of the turbo at 3-7psi of boost on a stock 5.3L (no camshaft yet) just test and tuning it with (silent, street) full exhaust |
