Adding 144 powercharger. Am I going to be able to run a real amount of boost?

This isnt going in a 3rdgen, I have to buy some gifts for my truck once in a while.

I'm shopping for super chargers and it looks like the holley 144 or whatever the wieand list is will be the one. The problem is I'm currently at 13.1 compression, I will be changing to larger heads 58cc to 75cc, but I'm still going to have a fair amount of compression estimated 11.4:1 (by the speed shop). Will I be able to use a healthy amount of boost? I dont want the super charger just for looks if you know what I mean. The engine is already pushing the HP limits for a N/A 355 upper 400 range at the wheels. The speed shop who I'm getting this through will dyno it before and after the install (no they are not installing it, dont want a stranger molestig my truck).

I dunno tell me what you think.

Thanks!

Weel SSC Im adding the same thing to mine, And im told 9:1 Compression is OK with decent (7 PSI) of boost. Im sure you know what happens with Boost + High compression... but these blowers are not high volume blowers... not like 671 that is, therefore its my beleif that you will have a few minor timing / tuning issues, but should be ok. but i have no experience as of YET with this sort of thing, im just going by what im told.
whats the LCA of your cam.. pushing that much horsepower with a 355 you must have like a 110 or 108 (at least i would just cause of the sound) so if you do your goina wana swap it out too... i suppose.. unless your exhaust likes boost...

As of this minute the cam is siting half out I'm changing from a comp 270H to a crane 111452 solid and swaping heads. I was very impressed with the SNS 110922 that I had put in the camaro. I dont have the cam card with me at the moment and off hand I havent a clue, but I can get you the specs if your interested in one.
I really wanted to get it on a dyno before I even touched it so I could compare the little upgrades I have done since It was on a engine dyno 3 years ago. Jester and a few others not on this site think I would probably benifit more from a small dual tunnel ram setup. I just think a supercharger would be sweet, theres always the firebird.:D

Well, I assume you're running race gas right now. So if you're going to continue to do so you can probably run some OK boost.

Just remember that these little 142s/144s were never meant to feed a fire-breathing small block. A heavy-breather will start to outrun the blower pretty bad. And you'll have to install higher boost pulleys just to get a "reasonable" amount of boost.

My mild 9:1 383 (set up for a blower) only gets about 4 PSI from the stock 6 PSI pulley setup. I'm steping up to the 8 PSI pulley just to get up to 5-6 PSI.

I would check with Holley (they make the Weiand 142 and Holley 144) and get their recommendations.
