Inconvenient, yes, but probably more convenient than the server too busy message that other large vB forums run into. I would think most people would rather have the high search flood check than the server too busy message which would affect far more people than just those who use the search engine at times. Due to the fact that this board is large in data as well as in activity, and the server's specs and setup in consideration, it has been said the search flood won't change for now. I think the admins know better since they have more access and knowledge of the server. I know the server does have load spikes, so such a flood timeout helps keep the forums up and running at a decent speed until TGO upgrades, which may help. |
