LOOK INSIDE --Free drag strip time at HMP 6/25/06 10AM ------>

Just got off the phone with Jim Jenkins--one of the instructors at UTI. UTI has rented thee track this Sunday morning!--he said everybody is welcome to come out and make some passes!!!

U can not run in the bracket eliminations unless U are a UTI student, or instructor cause the money and awards are reserved for them.

Free drag strip time this Sunday at HMP from 10 am til about 12:30 or 1pm or whenever it is that they start the bracket racing!

I'll be there waiting at the gates at 10am!

Red92RS 06-21-2006 06:15 PM

Wicked3rdgens 06-23-2006 10:33 PM

if we show up for the free time, and stay all the way through regular time do we have to pay then or is it still free

Last time they let everybody stay and watch after the UTI track rental time was over, but they cleared the pits and U had to pay to run (buy a tech card) during the regular hours. Not sure what they will do this time.

Zap Racing 06-25-2006 09:01 AM

OOOPS--that should be 10AM of course!!!

Red92RS 06-25-2006 07:18 PM

 I overslept this morning, hope you kicked some butt Zap :driving:

Zap Racing 06-25-2006 07:50 PM

Nobody showed up that said they were going to--I was doing everything by myself--I got overheated--got sick--loaded up and went home about 1PM

Larry Dunlap 06-28-2006 12:30 PM

Did you make any runs? times?

plndtx 06-28-2006 02:57 PM

I got overheated-
I feel your pain. I'm not getting out in the sun until about September.

quick time previous 8.49

1 pass 8.42
2nd 8.45
3rd 8.5's/8.6's

and progressively got slower as it got hotter.

Condidering we know that TPI cars are very sensitive to heat/conditions, I'd say the new higher stall Torque convertor made a difference, because the 8.49 was in much nicer weather conditions--cooler and not so humid. If U facter out the 1/8 mile run into a 1/4 mile run, I'd say Owen was right on in guessing the new TC would make about a tenth quicker run, but reaction times are different and I was having trouble adjusting to the new response times--eithr slow or red lighting! Best RT was a .539, but that one was just luck--could not repeat!

Well we're gonna be real close. My last runs at Sealy two weeks ago were 8.44 and 8.38. My reaction times were interesting. .0198, and .1037. Now the .0198 I guess would be equivalent to a .5198 using the .5 as perfect. Not consistent either, the other would be equivalent to .6037. RT could make the difference when we race.

The only thig is that it will probably have to wait til end of August!

Mom just went in for hip replacement yesterday--Her husbnd who has advanced alzheimers is over here at my house, for the next week/10 days until she gets out of the hosp--then we take care of both of them until we leave for the Slot Car Nationals the first week in Aug--be gone for 10 days--then come back and probably a couple more weeks of care, but probably not as intense.

So, as U can see I have a full plate (and then some)--besides Barry will MAYBE have his car ready by then!!!

Hmm, I see what you mean. That's cool, no rush, give me time to do my tuning thing. Also Sealy will be open for 1/4 mile by then. Yeah, BIg MAYBE for Barry being ready. Thats only two months from now:lmao:

Maybe you should get one of those practice trees and work on your reaction time at home. Come to think of it maybe I should. I always zone out a the line and am lucky to cut a good rt. I think our race will be won off the line.

Wheel Spin 06-30-2006 07:50 AM

Look at us, a bunch of old f^rts falling asleep at the flash of a light!:lmao:

Got to learn to take a daily OMAN* like me.

I thought all tracks went to the .0000 RT as perfect a few years ago, but looking at my HMP slips, one run was a .4329, which was a red light.

* Old Man Afternoon Nap:thanks:

Barry 85IROC 06-30-2006 07:08 PM

My car is ready anytime you are, laughing BOY. Just step up to the plate. How much do YOU want to lose????????So, now we have to wait on Craig...... I can beat Larry like a rented mule in the mean time (even though he wasn't invited)
