Thinking about selling my camaro

Gauging interest in selling my 86 z28.......was gonna ask for 5,500.....do you guys think that's too much?? Even if I get what I'm asking for I'm taking a loss.

well sure.. everybody knows that every 86 z28 is worth at least $5500, no matter what condition it's in. Ignore anybody who asked you for photos or details, those are never important when trying to determine value.

you didn't say that, did you?

was something stopping you from verbally giving details? If you weren't ready to post an intelligent thread, why bother doing it at all?

Yes it's called a short lunch break and a boss who doesn't like someone on their phone......I was just wondering what the going rate for thirdgens in nice condition are......

Re: Thinking about selling my camaro

so many variables.. is it low mileage? original condition? How's the interior? paint?

in general, the closer it is to original condition the more you can ask. If it's got a really good quality swap like a LSx swap with a T56, that doesn't hurt the price, but a crate 350 with a carb will decrease the desirability of the car, especially in an area where emmisions testing is the standard

honestly, you can't expect much help with the information you have given

Something else to keep in mind, typically mods detract from the value of a car unless you find someone who is both into the mods you are, and trusts you explicitly to know you installed them correctly. Either way, it's a slim chance.

Even if I get what I'm asking for I'm taking a loss.
Welcome to selling a car. You're going to take a loss, you don't buy cars to make money.

Re: Thinking about selling my camaro

Alright finally got around to doin this it's an 86 z28 with no power options other then the hatch release it was reprinted about 3 months ago where I replaced the stock good with an ascd ss hood. It was a 305 tpi and is now a hsr 350 which is composed of a vortec bottom end and ported 083 heads with a fresh valve job. The entire fuel system was replaced last month with 24# Bosch III injectors, kirban afpr, and a stock replacement delco pump. I swapped in 4th gen seats and rear end out of a 94 z28 and serviced the rear end while it was out. Every sensor has been replaced and it received a new distributor, plugs and wires when I swapped the intake about 7,000 miles ago. The car has a full hooker exhaust using 2460 shorties and aero chamber car back.brand new battery and rebuilt alternator. The shocks and struts are kyb gr2 and the springs are moog iroc replacement. It has 17 inch torque thrust m wheels measuring 17x8 in the front and 17x10.5 in the back. It has a built transmission with 2000 stall, shift kit, billet servo, and console mega shifter.....it's running an 89 350 chip with a pcmforless custom tune for my mods. It's a black hardtop car with carmine red interior And 15% tint. The seats are grey cloth.the interior is in good shape but it could use some tlc on the cargo area plastics and the dash pad needs a new cover as the one I installed never laid down like it should have. Sorry for all the rambling I was typing as I was thinking up all the details. Sorry for not including this earlier, time is a hard commodity

Re: Thinking about selling my camaro

might be worth what you are asking if the paint is fresh. It's not original, but It's not as bad as some people who throw a carb on there and rip out the emissions.

You're in the south.. does it have AC? if not, plan on that costing you a bunch of money and interested parties. your pool of potential customers shrinks by 75% when you don't have AC in the south

pics please

Depending on the state of the tires, AC and whether it has 25+ years of typical dents, dings and scratches, I'm thinking 3-4k I'm afraid. It reads like fun thirdgen, but I'm not sure the value is there, especially in our local market.
