New to this site!

Hey guys, I'm Melissa! I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone. First off, I'm a big-time car & racing girl. I really dig cars of all types, and especially drag racing.

I've worked for the NMRA & NMCA the past few years, and now I'm helping start a new video company called powerTV which broadcasts motorsport TV and video over the internet.

This looks like a pretty cool site. Just wanted to say hi!

Not one to discourage female participation in our club, but you own a Mustang and this is a GM Firebird/Camaro group.

Although there are a few GM/Ford owners here.

powermelissa 10-16-2006 06:26 PM

I'm into cars of all types actually. I just happen to own Mustangs right now!

langss 10-16-2006 06:36 PM

Welcome to the site. As Tom said there are some Ford owners, such as my wife, she drives a 91 Mustang,However I counter her with a 78 Trans Am,84 Z-28 ,86Trans Am,92 RS,and 2000 Camaro SS. This is really a GM family :)

Jon92TA 10-16-2006 09:33 PM

I'm still working my way thru the big three with GM's F-bods my current fav's.

The PowerTV video's look cool, I'll be checking your site regularly!

Welcome. Can't you see, she's using a plasma cutter to make paperweights out of the Mustang. Bring some to the December Christmas meeting. I'll take one.

Lon

Why is it a problem? He's letting us know that "powermelissa" is just a spammer who is trying to drum up business for her site, and not someone legitimate.

Dear 3rd Gen Forum Users, Moderators & Admins:

My name is James Lawrence and I am the founder of powerTV.

I was asked by the Mods and Owners of this site not to post further videos unless we would become involved/sponsor the site and course we will honor that request.

And, while I agree with all efforts to reduce SPAM and corporate bullying and marketing tactics - the presentation of the facts and Jonathan Rubenstein's motives are not what they appear to be.

Jonathan Rubenstein is one of SEMA's biggest critics, and has conducted a withering attack on them recently. I defended SEMA when Jonathan sent out a SPAM anti-SEMA e-mail to the SEMA membership directory, got into a huge debate with John, and next thing I find myself and powerTV the target. That does not mean his cause doesn't have merit, nor that we are without fault, but that is where it started. He then uses his web site as an attack vehicle.

You can see a detailed reply to this issue here.

I will say that should do a better job communicating with forum members and moderators about what we are what we do, and at least in that capacity, we have a lot to learn.

We have now created a FAQ that outlines what powerTV is and are linking to that FAQ in our signature so people can read for themselves.

You can see it here if you choose.

Hopefully we can do a better job with sites like this which are so valuable to the hot rodding community.

James
