New member with a possible barn find. Anyone know who owns this?

I just moved into an apartment in San Diego for college and found this in the parking garage.

The dust and deflated tires make me think that it was abandoned. That, and it doesn't look like its been registered for driving for a while. If this belongs to anyone here in SOCAL, I'd really like to know.

I'm really interested in buying it from the owner, if I can find them, and this is my first attempt. As you can see, it's from Ohio, so I'll post this in that forum as well. It's a 1990 RS automatic with T tops. If nothing shows up here in the first week, I'll go to the DMV to find out. These parking spots are paid though, so the owner should still be in the building. Oh well. The Carfax on it was awesome, so if the owner is willing to sell or transfer it to me, I'd be happy as a clam.

It's from Idaho, not Ohio lol. Might wanna put it in that board instead. But it looks clean though, hope you can find the owner man.

Idaho is what I meant to type haha. Not sure how I mixed that up. Anyways, Someone from Idaho on a different car forum I frequent has to go to the DMV soon, so he said he'd run the plates for me.

I wonder if it could belong to someone in the military? They maybe on deployment as a possibility.

I bought a great car in SD from some one in the military last summer.

Thank You! I didn't know other states had license plates that made sense!

Maybe getting the VIN will help? Or ask the apartment manager who's car is park across three parking spaces!! :)

Pretty sure it has an owner who's probably military. I would leave it be. That is not a crazy layer of dust' for a San Diego parking garage. Could look like that in under a month.

It's an out of state car, so it could be completely missing smog stuff as well. I'd hit up Craigslist and find some camaros there, they are all over the place.

Thanks for the input. I've considered the possibility of Military as well, but something about that doesn't make sense. It hasn't been towed, which means it has an attending owner, but you can't rent out a spot unless also renting out an apartment. If it is from a military member, they would have had to have left the car with family or a friend willing to let them take their spot or rent another one out. If so, why hasn't that person been maintaining it? It's tires are flat and I doubt they bothered to isolate the battery. And also, why has it seen so much time without registration? It's history ends in 2013. I realize that's within bounds for military service, but something about his seems like a stretch of circumstances. I'm leaving it alone for now, but if nothing happens close to a year from now I'll start looking into it again. Also, I've looked on craigslist and they are all V6s, or way too expensive. I liked the idea of going through with a barn find :D

If it is being kept with family, and they haven't been taking care of it, it makes me worried for my MR2 back home with my sister haha. I think I'm going to fly back and drive it down next weekend.
