is this a good idea?

my cousin cut the spacer on the endlink/ swaybar in half and he says that it improved the handling and cornering, has any one else tried this? he has a 84 z28 350 bored 30 over 350tranny

If the springs on that end of the car were too stiff, disabling the swaybar would make it handle better.

Cutting an endlink and leaving the bar flopping around on that end is a pretty trailer park hilljack banjo music you got a pretty mouth on you boy way to go about it, though.

He didn't cut the endlink off, he made the spacer shorter.

This is preffered if the car is lowered. If I have this right, however, if the car isn't lowered, it will put the whole swaybar at a more downward angle. This could make the suspension feel "stronger," in that the swaybar is more difficult to flex upward, acting like a thicker swaybar. In reality, this is not how you want your suspension to work. The springs should be doing more of the stiffening than the swaybars... the bars are meant to keep the car level during turns, and should be installed at the appropriate angle.
