87 10 bolt disc brake axle vs 91 drum brake axle shaft

does anyone know if the axle shafts are interchangable between a 87 10 bolt disc brake axle compared 91 drum brake axle shaft?

Also what are the years that use the same parts for a rear axle?82-87 and 88-92?
All and any info will be greatly appreciated.

Nope. In mid 89, the rears changed from 26 spline to 28 spline.

Not only are the splines different, but the axle flange on the drum brake is slightly larger than the disc brake axle. Not a big deal unless your planning on using the older style rear disc setup, in which case the rotor won't fit over the axle.

I found this out the hard way last week:doh:
