BMW wheels. These fit, right?

I just found these on ebay, and I really think they would look nice on my trans am. What do you guys think.

They are only $445 bin, w/ $95 s&h

With only 15 mm offset, I wouldn't need adaptors, right? I would just need a spacer. I am not sure though. I don't have the money to get these, but that is the going rate for them. I could get these later, and I just want to know if they would still need adaptors.

How do you guys think they would look on my Trans am?

damn you 8" wheels! Why do you exist!

They would more than likely work with some wheel spacers. I think they would look decent. Hard to tell without seeing them there. They will definitely make your brakes look like crap, however.

my 2 cents = DONT DO IT.
unless you plan on getting rid of that bloody bmw centerpiece, that would be quite the eyesore. and yes, 8 inch wheels suck.

i dont know how you feel about the 10 spoke ss rims, but i got a set of chrome factory blem 17x9's for about 320+80 shipping. they look awesome on my car. paid about 1/3 of what they cost new, and they had never been mounted, only thing wrong with them was on 2 of them there were tiny chips in the chrome, they've been on the car for a couple months and it hasnt continued flaking off, and you have to get right up to it to even see it, its maybe 1 inch long and 1/8th inch wide on the very outside part on both wheels. only thing that sucks about them is you have to use a 2 inch spacer, which set me back another 200.

Bolt pattern wise they WILL work. Those are a 120mm, we are a 120.65mm they will work. one person locally to me (RedRocket) has been running some BMW rims on his car for many years with no problems at all. They look very nice.

I just want to stay away from adaptors if I can, because I am still not sure of the negatives handling wise.

Yeah soulbounder, I would need some new front brakes. My pbr's in the back look nice though, but I still have stock for 82 in the front.

1meangta, The center piece would have to go. Not only does it not look right, but you can't have it there. The hubs for the fronts pop out of that hole right there. I have to paint my hubs to get it looking okay.

So with spacers, It might work. Spacers, not adaptors. I can have 6mm of offset, and these have 15mm. That is not too much. Not as drastic as 3rd gen to 4th gen's 55mm. So I figure adaptors might be unnecessary.

Anyway, I will probably still stick with some sort of gm wheel, but I still want to weigh my options.

i dont know, i got cheapo adaptors from ebay, 100 a pair, and they work great, no vibration or anything like that.

iansane 06-24-2005 12:25 PM

Those look like TSW wheels, the VX1's

AdmAnt13 06-24-2005 02:43 PM

ive had so many problems with my adapters. vibrations, vibrations vibrations
Prolly because I bought them from FBodyMotorSports (before I knew they sucked as a company)

do they really? i only live a couple hours away and i was thinking about taking my car down there and having them make a custom prom for me after i get my new intake on. not a good idea? (no way in hell i've got the know how to make a prom myself)

AdmAnt13 06-24-2005 05:43 PM

if you search fbody motorsports and thirdgenresource (their old name) you will get thread after thread with horror stories. I wouldnt buy from them. TA least online anyhow, I dont know about going in person.
