Uneven Ride Height
 

Ok so I totally redid my whole suspension front and rear with all the stuff listed in the signature. I installed a set of the Eibach prokit springs and now my driver side has a perfect stance to it, however my passenger side is about 1 1/2" higher in the front and back.

I thought the springs might have to settle a bit so I pushed the car all the way down my driveway and back up which is at least 1/10th of a mile, but to no avail its still leaning really bad. Then I swaped the rear springs over and its still the same. One more attempt to correct this issuse was to remove that big isolator from the passenger side rear spring and put a rubber hose around it for insulation. That should have lowered it some, or so I thought, but it stayed at the same height as with the isolator. I can't figure out how the same size springs are creating such a huge difference in height.

Any suggestions on what might cause this would be great.

maybe you put the springs in wrong, for example the front springs were put in the passenger side front and back and the rear springs in the driver side front and back?

I appreciate the reply but the front and back springs are very different and mine are most defenitly installed correctly. Both front and rear springs are indexed the exact same way which is why this has me so confused.

My car did sit on jack stands for awhile, is there anyway possible that the body is sagged on one side or something? If that is possible how does one go about fixing that.

I'm really at a loss here as this is something I never expected to happen.

well where did you have the jack stands positioned under the car? and does the car drive straight?

The car was sitting on jackstands on the rear where the lower control arms mount, and in the front under the stamped subframe area.

I have been building this car up over the past few years so I'm just getting it to the point where its ready to be driven so I can't say for sure, however when pushing the car its tracks straight.

well then right now your guess is just as good as mine, putting jackstands in those positions should have no effect on the chassis, do you have any pictures of the car with the new susp. sitting on a level surface?

I certainly appreciate your thoughts. I'll take some pics of the car tomorrow sitting in the garage on level ground. Its unreal how noticable this is, I'm like a lowered car on one side and a 4x4 on the other. Its just unreal how the car didn't lower any when I removed that spring isolator so I put it back in. I mean maybe the whole setup still needs to settle but this is just crazy how off it all is.

i've got the same problem... 1" difference. after all the new goodies too, just like you.

last thing I have to check is the torque arm--i'm not sure, though. we installed the T/A while on jack stands, so it may be crooked, creating a bind on one side to keep the other side from setting totally on the spring/shock. who knows, but i'm pissed about all the money I spent and it sits uneven, and is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bumpy, bruisy, throw you across the interstate when you hit a bump. thinking about selling it and buying a R1. haha

did you ever finger it out???? i'm almost to the point of taking it down to hawks3rdgen and letting them fix it, for $1,000,000. i doubt anyone will touch it when they see underneath, as it's all new, adjustable, and a pain. should got non-adjustable stuff I guess

i had the same problem. I installed Eibach sportline. First I check the rear making sure it was in the correct groove. It was correct. So I went to the Front. And I took the spring out. And thats when I notice the lower A-arm is groove for the spring and the spring was in the wrong spot. The spring will easily go in but in the wrong position. But is a bear to actually get the spring in the groove of the lower a-arm without taking the lower a-arm off. But it just took of tugging and pulling. And after i got the spring in the groove on the front. The car sat perfect. And low now. It drop a 1 inch or more.

look at the pack of camels on top of the tire.... sitting upright in one, laying down in the other... an easy 1" difference on my 4th gen rear. wish I had a garage to mess with this... anyway, any IDEAS?????? I doubt the front spring will affect the height of the rear of the car, who knows/?? we took off and reconditioned both a-arms when redoing the front end. makes me sick! I've got the LCA's, and tire centered good now.. but ride height is way way way off. stillhavent noticed anything---guess we'lll have to tear the rear out again and see what we can see. PHUCK!

You don't think the front being off won't affect the rear. I beg to differ. My car is the was exactly what you speak. I thought no way the front will affect the rear (biggest reason becuz it is a pain to do the front compared to the rear at least). But I went to the front and corrected it. And it is fixed all around. U got to think the rear has no weight. So it is easily raised.
